jmoore, I love your rich black soil! You will grow some killer veggies in that.

I enjoyed sewing with everybody this long weekend, and seeing all the beautiful work posted. Thank you, Raggiemom and see you all next time.

Tuesday and back to work, darn it!
Sewbizgirl - love your string quilt, your x-blocks and your 10-year-old FO - your sense of color is wonderful.
Cash'smom - your "string me along" makes me want to mix up the string blocks for my next one. The addition of the black really makes it sing.
So - I did have some progress on my improv quilt and have managed to sew together the bottom half completely. I didn't get as much done as I had hoped - made the mistake of starting a new Shetland mystery on Friday afternoon and had to keep tearing myself away to sew. Rob - thank you for the encouragement, it really helped. Petthefabric - thanks for the note about the sizes of all of the elements. I made a concerted effort to mix it up.

Jane Quilter: That is so pretty. I keep reading about Boxes of Strings so I will be looking for that pattern.

Cashes_mom: I like those dark kite centers.

Oh boy! Another 2 ideas to add to the others. Lol! Good thing my subbing days for the year end on Friday! I should have lots of sewing time then until later September.

Irishrose2: Braided rows are pretty but yes they do stretch. I did a king size quilt and made several rows of them. Not on my to-do list anymore.

ArtysOne: I love the black. That was one of the things that attracted me to this particular string quilt.

RetiredTeacher09: Me, too. I think the black and white adds a lot to the blocks.

ArtsyOne: loving it. The addition of smaller objects helped a lot. Like that you grouped the lg trees differently. Do you like the addition of the extra cow fabric? I do. And the black extended the value range.
