I lived overseas during the end of the 60s into the 70s. Missed alot of what you are talking about - plus had boys, so they didn't always go for cutsie horses with multi colored tails and manes. Oh, to have a girl. Had to wait until the boys married to get my girls (DILs) and then each of them had a girl. They each had a boy as well. Again, I'm missing out on alot of their lives as we live between each of them - a days ride either way to visit. Wish we could go more often.

Yeah my one grandchild lives in Oregon with her mother and her mother isnt too interested in having her chat with me. She lets her chat with my X and his wife because he sends extravagent gifts.. me I am close to my son so therefore not going to be close to her daughter. Sad. I have never met her. Cute little tiny blonde girl with long hair and glasses. She is 7 now. I have hope the other two of my children have a couple I would love to play Grandma for real. I had the two boys first and so prayed for a little girl. Hubbies brothers had 5 boys between them. They were from a family of 4 boys. So when I found out i was pregnant with my lil girl? OMG I tossed all that boy stuff FLING and bought bright colored fish pictures in tropical colors, made her tropical quilts and bumpers, oh bright fuschia teal cushions for the rocker. and the clothes.. omg the clothes I bought.

Onto things like Tropical Runners tick tock tick tock time to sew if you have not. I pray no one will end up disappointed and not receive a runner. Please PM me an update if you have not sent and tell me your status on sewing/sending. Thanks!

last but not least was thinking we sit here Dustysmomma and Nancia and any of you who want to join us!

I am turning 36 on the 9th, not prepared at all!!!! I don't know why this one is getting to me, turning 30 or 35 didn't. But I remeber the orignial Strawberry Shortcake, my 5th birthday was Strawberry Shortcake, and My little Pony, it has gotten a makeover and my girls play with them now. I will go with Brat and drink my PBR (Patt's Blue Ribbon) listening to Zac Brown band. The movie theater lounge (21 and over only) used to have PBR on tap and it was so good, otherwise give me a miller lite. I don't do fruity or mixed drinks and ocassionally a glass of wine. My dream vacation is to live a Corona commercial for a week.

Ooh, it can be a birthday girls' getaway! I don't care if the drinks have umbrellas or not, so long as the cabana boys are hot! Yeah, Kenny can pretend marry me too! Oops, sorry, it was for real. Now whatcha gonna do? Sing to me? Why yes please! Ooh, it's sunset Kenny. My my, you do look even better!

Mommy! Can I keep him? Renee? Who's that?

Nope Nancia, I can't flap either. That frozen shoulder keeps me on the steel birds!

I married my ex after my mother's approval, which consisted of "He's a very nice boy...and he's got a nice butt too!" I should have known then he was trouble, lol. I only moved here with him because he was fun & cute. I didn't plan on 15 years and 2 kids with him when we started this adventure.

I have frequent flyer miles I can use, so I will get a head start on the sun and drinks. And my personal choice would be George Strait, love me some George.

I love me some George too! Did you see this is his last tour? One of the guys in my boyfriend's department, who has done extremely well for himself financially, has taken his wife on several fly-ins to cities where he was playing on this tour to see him. They're rabid fans if I've ever seen any.

Here we are getting over winter, and hoping it doesn't come back again, and in between George Straight fly-ins, he went off to northeast Canada close to the Arctic Circle and went polar bear hunting. He shot one his second day, so they bought last minute tickets to a concert somewhere & he met her there & then flew home.

Dear beach-loving friends...you all can sit in the sun and drink your drinks. I will be back in the beach house fixing your dinner. Sun and I do not stay together very long so will be there decorating the table with a table runner and placemats along with some neat mug rugs. When you are all sitting around enjoying a yummy dinner and complaining about your sun burns, I will pass the jar of Noxema around and give you sympathy!:-)

Oh yeah, they make it. I still use it sometimes too! Between that and aloe gel (kept in the fridge all summer long!) I've got all the sunburn remedies everyone will need.

Nancia, I had to chuckle about the "country beach slut" comment, lol! Oh the visuals that brings to mind.

I don't do the sun much either, I'll help in the kitchen. Surely there's a covered porch somewhere where I cold put my fanny down, feet up and read a good book or just do some hand sewing? (That's after I've finished helping in the kitchen!) Brat, I could possibly 'forget' I got my runner and tell you I needed one to fill the gap - would you fall for that and send me one? If so, consider it said. I'll wait by my mailbox for delivery

lol guys.. I am already there. I close my eyes and I can hear the water, and.. thats it. maybe maybe some of that music but the best time of day on a gorgeous beach is right at sunrise or sunset. less burning rear ends or cleavages, and well just that little chair real low feet right at the waters edge so it can lap around your toes.. and if I am thirsty one of those 'beach' boys in white shorts can instantly come running with a cool drink of anything when I outstretch my hand. Oh I have a big hat on a gorgeous sarong covers those parts like wiggly inner thighs that are NObody's business.and flowers tucked behind my ear. like a boquet worth lol..

to those of you inside for this trip I think we can arrange spa massages for you.. and cool cool fresh beverage of your choice, some pretty girls in pretty little outfits doing all the cooking and waving of big tropical leaves over you so your not over heated. yup that kind of trip.

WELL today is the real last day for sewing girly girls. Has everyone MAILED or are you mailing by tomorrow? I find my mailbox minus any I am mailing emails stating your tablerunner status.

I am waiting... waiting.... come on everyone who hasnt mailed fess up to me in PM where your at please. Gracias!!

    Finally!!!

Mailed my tropical splendor off today - I played hooky over the weekend because we had perfect weather - not this crud forecasted for the next few days so I slacked on my projects; I feel a whole lot better for getting that natural vitamin the sun casts. I've actually not been on line for the past week; too many other things going on and if I were to log in it would be too late at night before logging off - best not to temp the fates. These guys are escorting package to it's destination.

It's not her project, just a photo of some beautiful pink flamingos.
