Thank you Queen B, and a special thank you to the 28 early birds. I'll be opening your candies later today.

I'm making a queen size postage stamp quilt (no duplicates not guaranteed).

Happy Birthday Anniequilts, enjoy your day and your new candies! I have so many candy quilts sewn together but now have been quilted and done. I've been working on these UFO's so they could be donated and put to use. Here are some that I have finished in the last month, have 3 more to go. Then I can finish last years candies and get a start on this years. Some of you may recognize a few squaresName: DSCF3474.JPG

Thanks Red. I have a friend who says you don't need rip any mistake that can't be seen from a galloping horse. Is that true?

My favorite manta! "On a galloping horse, who's going to notice?"

I went to a Mary Mulari seminar last year and she advocates never apologizing or pointing out what you consider to be mistakes or less than perfect. I like that attitude!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, the cute cards, the thoughtful handwritten notes, and of course the candies. You made my day a very special one!

Love all your quilts Jaba. The people who receive them will be very lucky.

Question for all of you who donate quilts. Do you wash them before donating them?

Always -- but my quilt inspectors are the kitty-cat kind

I am new at the donation thing. The quilts I make have been gifts to folks I know. But since I will not know who is receiving my donation quilts, I thought I would wash before I donate. I have a kitty and not everyone is likes kitty fur on their bed covers or snuggle quilts. I work to keep fur exposure to a very, very minimal amount but with a cat in the house, you just can't be totally fur free. In the wash, dried and into a box for mailing purrrrrposes.

I think I forgot to wish AnnieQuilts a Happy "B" Day. I was in GR last week and wished I had made connections for a cup of tea and your recommendations for quilt shops. Another day. Keep celebrating and just have fun with all of those little birthday treats. Give you kitty a back scratch from her down state twin.

All the quilts I have donated there has only been 1 that I washed first, and just because it had been hanging for about 3 years and the white had a little streak on it. I do not have a dog or cat in the house so there is no hair. For me and only me...I appreciate someone washing the swaps I do if they have a cat, or at least let me know as I am very allergic to them. My hubby usually opens the packages out in the garage and he can tell if he needs to do something before they come in the house. Allergies are the pits, but if you have them they can really be a problem

    That would have been fun!

In case you come to town again before we talk, I recommend these two for your browsing pleasure:

Queen Bee Quilt Shoppe, on south Division just north of 68th Street.

Attic Window, on Alpine Ave. NW just north of Six Mile Road.
