I'd like to see something a little less busy. And everyone is right about the color.

Perhaps you could look at some of the blenders, or the ones that are mottled, don't know what they are called. Or the Stonehenge fabrics are fabulous.

I would be inclined to break up the wide border by putting a 4" border of your print and then a 21/2" border of your sashing fabric then a 51/2" border of your print. You can change the measurements but break it up into three borders instead of just one overly wide border.

I agree with geneva...maybe piano key or flying geese border....or something along those lines. Solid color or even prints might be ok if used in a much narrow width of several borders. Anyway, don't like the wide print border as shown...it does detract from your beautiful, beautifully done blocks. Best wishes.

If you use a narrow strip of a nice medium yellow (a hue from the center of the quilt, but not a gold or cheddar color) between the quilt top and the first border, I think you could make it work nicely. I like your quilt!

I think a narrow border of the blue floral then a scrappy border using all the colors in your center blocks and the blue floral would be great!!! Then you could bind in the blue floral. I agree you need to bring in some of those wonderful colors from your center blocks to tie the border to the center of the quilt.

I think it needs a 2 1/2 inch inner border and then outer border. Why are you making a 12 inch outer border? I usually use 6 1/2 inch. The border just seems to large to me.

Would love to see a blue solid with piano keyboard quilting to still showcase your beautiful blocks and not detract from them, still giving the border a personality of its own. Good luck with such a heirloom quality quilt.
