2015 Fabric Moratorium

Calla: Yeap it was taken out of your hands. No blame, it was clearly the credit card company's fault. Martina: Oh if only I had been following your sterling example. Enough said.

I was on vacation and bought a couple of Row by Row kits and one yard of fabric. I had to buy 1 yard of fabric to finish a quilt back. I piece all of my backs to use up some of my stash. I look at some of the modern quilts for inspiration on how to piece them out of different colors. I just loosely follow them. I just pieced a king size from my stash except for the yard I bought, actually 4 FQ. I want mostly gray for the back and used up a bunch of gray kona I had. I am also working on a quilt for my DD and accidently used the gray for it in the quilt back. Luckily it was kona and I dug thru my stash and found some more of it for the quilt. At least it was kona and easy to match as I am in the middle of her quilt.
I am going to a bunch of LQS with some friends next week. Hopefully I can behave myself. I was digging thru my stash last night for fabric for a guild project and there is soooooooo much there. Be strong everyone!

My FIRST AND ONLY bubble quilt is finished. It falls under the "creative sewing" category as it is all sorts of wonky AND I literally had to sew pleats into the last border. It's for a baby who won't care. Sometimes "done" is as good as it gets. I think it did turn out cute though. I also used up all the "boy" prints from the layer cake which is a step in the right direction for stash management.
Dagnabbit, when I click on the "manage attachment" button, nothing happens. So for now no picture.

Martina: Your quilt turned out so cute! Doesn't look wonky at all and I'm dead sure the baby is going to love it.

Calla -- with fall just around the corner, of course you needed enough fabric to make pumpkins. Looks like you now have enough.
Meanmom -- you are showing real restraint! Have fun at the quilt shop adventure and buy a yard for me as I'm not buying anything right now. I shot my wad on the batiks a while back.
Martina -- love your puff quilt. Is that the same as a biscuit quilt?
