tk: I think it would be far easier to embroidery before making it part of the quilt. When your embroidering a piece towards the middle you won't have to deal with all that fabric on the outer edges. Just my opinion. Don't forget to show us as you progress.

So many of you are so busy with projects. I hope we get to see pics sometime. I myself have a lot of projects in the works but no finishes lately.
Confession time - I'm making my sons wallhangings of the northcott tree panels. Single guys with no decorations so I figured if I make these and attach lights all they have to do is lay it out somewhere and they'll have something. They assure me they can do that lol.
Showed my mother in law the wallhangings and she loved it said it was just what she needed. So I ordered another one in the color she liked and Christmas backing. Where I strayed is sale fabric at the site I bought the other. Didn't get away from buying 2 yards of stonehenge fabric to round out the postage. That's my excuse anyway.

You're right there are many opportunities.
And there is the expo in October with a driver other than me to look forward to.

Erin: You deserve a reward for putting your time, labor and love into projects that will brighten others holiday. Two yards of fabric isn't that big a fall.

I'm patting myself on the back for going on a 10-day vacation and not stepping so much as one FOOT into a fabric store. I did some sewing with my niece, using her scraps, to start a string quilt, but I was only making a teeny tiny dent in her scrap bin. Maybe a half yard total? So I didn't spend a dime, but got my "need for speed" on her Janome Skyline. My husband chided her for making me drool over that sweet machine this close to my 50th birthday!

How sweet of your niece to let you take her Janome for a test drive zozee. I definitely think a 50th birthday warrants a new machine. So your husband would get no help here!

I was given scraps of material at the community quilt group yesterday. This should finish my skadoddle scrappy quilt. I'm excited by that one. It is a real collage type. It is also using up my scraps at a good rate. And the salvages are being used by the lady that makes pet beds for stuffing.

Keep the momentum going, folks.

What a lovely flag quilt, calla. Did you hand applique the roses?

I got a quilt top done from someone else's scraps yesterday. It's about 8 x 11 inches.....Will take a pic of it to share later... while putting it together I chain stitched stash blocks...laughed to my self because one block is larger than the little quilt. Tickled that I've got all 48 blocks laid out and ready to sew.

Now to mow lawn again...

Perfect solution on the bindling calla. What a beauty.

I've been prepping those pesky little puffs which is not enjoyable in the least.
