I will have to go buy some backing fabric (and binding) for the top I finished today. There is NOTHING in the stash that works color-wise. I am just heartbroken (glad you all don't see the big grin on my face).

Too funny Martina. Such a tragedy

Last month I had started a baby quilt from stash and put it aside for holidays. Bringing it back out I realize I really don't care for it. Does this happen to anybody else? So I'm debating what I should do with it - work on changing it or putting it back away and seeing if the next time I pull it out I like it better.

Martina, you poor thing!
Elly, I vote for letting it age a bit. I find that if I don't like something it's usually because I've been looking at it too much. Put it away for a while and let it rest. If you still don't like it, finish it simply and donate it.

elly66, since you are making it from stash, can you change it up and change direction? Sometimes those realizations can bring out the creative spirit. Can you show us a picture?

oksewglad: Those minis are adorable! Thanks for sharing. I also bookmarked the super scrappy blog because I have finally sorted the majority of my scrap stash by color.

I'm doing the happy dance! Went to hobby lobby yesterday...told my hubby I was just going in for 1 thing. He laughed, parked and came in just in time to see me checking out with only the one thing! A package of Batting! I'm so happy with my restraint! Didn't even go by the clearance section!

Thanks...whenever my friends give me their scraps, I'm excited because many have different color tastes than I and give me more options.. my uncut scraps are sorted by color, too. The 365 challenge will come from mostly scraps.

Let's hope I can be as good when I go to the LQS today for the backing and binding.

I went to my (not so local) LQS thursday for my weekly learn how to use my new machine class and only bought backing I needed for finishing a UFO. Proud of myself. I was mad at my husband for not driving me and was debating buying more fabric to sooth my emotions. I bought more embroidery thread instead. Trading one for another. Oh well

I was with my granddaughter in Joanns yesterday and she saw how much tools for quilting cost . She said see wouldn't ever do quilting as a hobby because of the cost. I'm 61 and it has taken me a long time to have what I have. We forget it doesn't take all the new tools to make a quilt. We like to do it fast and the easy way.
