I have used some of my "odd" fabric on charity tops recently. Not that they were ugly or bad, they just weren't anything I would use for me. Some little girl will be happy with little pink flowers and applique hearts I'm sure.

Good going, everyone. I believe that solids should be on the "allowed" list. They are the neutrals that we NEED to replenish from time to time. There - I said it!

MadQuilter, I agree with you. In order to have our quilts sparkle, we need neutrals and solids. Should be allowed.

Yes, sorry, I've done some housecleaning.
Martina: just what I need, more neutrals
Here's my latest. Mini retreat at cottage with one quilty friend. All stash, but it's only a wall hanging. Hmm, needs a good pressing!

On Saturday, I made my first fabric purchase of the year and it was backing fabric, I bought from a friend. So I'm still on the wagon.

Is there ANYTHING in your stash where you are running short? I can tell you it is not as satisfying to buy fabric you NEED vs. what you WANT, but it is a fabric purchase nonetheless.

Love the dragon flies, PP.

Nope nothing I need I probably have enough fabric to keep me busy all year. Maybe I just need to get it all out and roll around in it. I'm sure Glenda the cat would help me.

I understand the urge to purchase the fabric. So if you really are jonesing for some yardage, you can make a game of it. Take some paper and cut it into sections. Then write on each a specific type of fabric you would love to add (example 1 yard of batik or 4 FQs with polka dots) The fold them up and put them in a jar. Shake and pick one. THAT is what you will be allowed to buy. It will satisfy the urge, control the amount, and keep the impulse-buying crazy person at bay. Keep the jar and pull it out the next time you get the urge.
