I was such a good girl, I brought my paint chip samples to the Houston Quilt Show and bought all of my fabric there. I know Bonnie advocates scrappy but I went more of a tye-dye style. Then I was posing for the photo op and got into a conversation with someone who hadn't got her paint chips yet, so since I was finished with them, I gave her mine! My fabric has since been pre-washed, ironed and starched, all I need now is the black and neutral and I'm good to go! I think I'll be buying the missing parts over the weekend so I'm all ready for Black Friday to get started!

Prissnboot, thanks for the reminder that I need to starch my fabric. I started off last year without and had much better results after I starched my fabric.

So sorry to be so late getting back to you. It was Cozy Quilts in El Cajon. I did get wrapped up in by 10 yards and get 5 yards free. So now have plenty of fabric for the mystery and a backing for another quilt.

I'll be so glad when the first clue comes out and I have to actually start cutting and sewing. Why? you ask....because last night I spent time in my stash (again) swapping out fabrics for this MQ. I think this time I've got it but you never know. There's still time to do it again, and again, and again........I hate it when I do this!

Oh yes, Bonnie is big on chain piecing, for sure.

I'm looking forward to the start of this mystery. But I'm away the first weekend so I'll be getting a late-ish start on it when I get back the following Monday.

I think that I have most of the colors needed, but I am having a very hard time finding that particular shade of green in anything or anyplace. Very limited close fabric shopping and online, it is so hard to figure exactly what shade a color really is, sometimes, what you order is a far cry from the real shade.

Very nice color selections Ladies. I don't think I would like to dew along. I like to make my quilts faster.

I've never done a BH mystery quilt. I am so looking forward to this one. I decided to go with her colors - a little outside my comfort zone, but I think the colors are really pretty. I was able to pull most from my stash. This week I started doing a Leaders and Enders project of BH and love the thread I am saving by doing L&E. Takes a little longer to do the main project, but the thread I am saving makes it worth it. Only a week and a half to wait for the first clue!

I'm doing Grand Illusion to remind me of a fun trip we took to Mackinac Island. We hope to visit the UP this year. Oh, and because Bonnie's Mysteries are a lot of fun. I always learn from Bonnie Hunter.
