Janice McC, I really like your quilt pattern, Garlic Knots with your background fabric selection. See pretty and the day you took the pic looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Well, congratulations then, Cherrybsixty! Toot, Toot for your May UFO finish :) Thanks for letting me know. [QUOTE=cherrybsixty;7836248]Janice, our great leader, I do have a May finish and I posted of it once a while back. About a top that I finished and gave to my cousin the long armer to quilt as a charity quilt in 2015. She recently return it to me un

Hi BugLady, it's a great quilt but the finish is Anne2016's. You can see her original post at #1177.

Since it's now June 3, I'd better give you last month's tally. We had a total of 31 UFO finishes, an average of one per day. Congratulations go to Jaba, Letawellman, Grinch, Cherrybsixty, Sophie2, DJ, Rryder, Quiltermomma, WMUTeach, Kassaundra, Anne2016 and Belfybat.
That brings this year's total to 133! Way to go! Toot, Toot to everyone :) Who will have the first finish of June??? |
I don't know who will have the first finish, but I do know who won't!!!! lol Since I'm working on a WIP instead of a badly needed (read older) UFO. After I finish this WIP I am working on now, I think my next UFO will be an URR / Doctor Who (yes the same quilt) that I started about 6ish years ago (maybe longer)

I've got one that's close, just need to decide how I want to quilt the borders then bind it. Maybe by mid week it'll be done. Also have one that's sandwiched and ready to go after that one's done! Then I've got to get back into those collaborative pieces before my collaborator disowns me:p

Janice, I was trying to let someone else go first since I was last but, seems like no one else is quite ready. I just finish the binding on another one of those 2015 charity quilts that my cousin and I were working. This one is a collective effort. My cousin pieced the top and I did the quilting and the binding. It usually works the other way around. She has been struggling with some health issues lately and has became a little limited. So I decided that I would step up a little. Once again, I will post pix later.
Happy sewing everyone |
I've managed to bind two more quilts since Thursday and have another half-way done. We're not supposed to have high winds today so I'll take them outside and photograph them this afternoon. I feel like I'm finally catching up!
|
Cherry, congratulations on another UFO finish. I'll look forward to seeing the pix. Don't ever hesitate to post a finish...we use all finishes as inspiration. Congrats again and TOOT, TOOT!

Been 6 months since my last UFO finish, but this one is finally completely done! This project was 33" inches of pure, pain-in-the-neck, nothing "seamed" to go right, trying my patience and persistence to the last stitch. The blocks weren't difficult, but I apparently chose fabrics that just did not want to work together and easily became distorted. Glad to call this one D.O.N.E!

Allspots! Nice to see you back here with a wonderful UFO finish. Love the fabrics and colors. You may have had difficulties with it but it looks like you overcame them. Congratulations and TOOT, TOOT!

Thanks Janice! Hoping for another UFO finish this month.

Allspots, your persistence paid off. It is a beautiful quilt. The fabric colors work well together.
|
That'd be terrific. :). I'm pretty sure I'll have one also. :)

Karen (buglady)...thank you for the nice comments about my quilt.
|
I will soon have a finish (hopefully!). I need to make a label and attach it and fix a small seam that looks like it may come undone.
I have also started quilting another quilt. That may take most of the month....or longer! |
Allspot #1210, that a great finish, glad see you back, hoping to see what you are working on now.
Janice, I asked in a earlier post, but maybe you explained your picture of your new icon, I must have missed it? I know we are all busy with trying to get these UFO off the table and really don't have time to repeat ourselves. Just curious. Trying to prep a vintage motif of a top that is one those charity quilts. Once again that's another story. Happy sewing everyone |

Anne - your garlic knots quilt is quite striking. I really like the design.
Allspots - your quilt is very nice. And I can imagine it was a pain to go together with all those small pieces. I have three finishes. These were easy in that I had already quilted them so just needed to finish the binding. It always feels so good to have a quilt completely finished! The blue lattice was made at a quilt retreat in 2014 from blue squares left on the free table. I snatched them up and made this easy quilt. Bright Stars and the Teal scrappy were Mystery Train quilt rides led by Judy on this board. They are several years old -- 2 or 3 at least. allspots, that's absolutely beautiful!
Love your finishes, Belfrybat! Those Train Ride patterns are really nice. |
Belfrybat...great finishes. I like the one with the teal border. Teal is one of my favorite colors.
|
allspots, sure glad you kept on plugging away on that little quilt, it looks really nice.
|
Belfrybat, lovely finishes.
|
Belfrybat-- nice finishes, those train ride quilts are fun, and I love the lattice!

I've caught up on all the posts here, going to join you. Haven't been on the board in over a year or so. Still quilting but need some incentive to get those UFOs under control. Not sure how many there are- I keep them in a cubby in my fabric area. I did complete one- by boxing it up with the backing fabric and sent it to my friend in FL (I am in PA). Take that you stupid UFO. I made a queen, throw, beach bag, tote and purse for a fund raiser this year so I'm ready to attack some stuff. I'm taking a class on how to use my long arm next week so the goal is to finish up 3 tops I have waiting to be quilted. When doing the fund raiser I cut out 3 other queen size quilts (they didn't seem happy enough for the fund raiser) so I don't want them to become ufos, so I will make them up (one will be taken apart to become scrap fabric, I really didn't like it). One is sold and I want one for my bed. I also took a lap size quilt I made 2 years ago and added more quilting to it and my granddaughter's name so that's a UFO gone! (forgot to take a pic). First to finish some baby gifts for a shower this Saturday... keep posting, loving your finishes!

Cherry, thanks for asking about it. :) The new avatar is a "mini" I finished a couple of months back. I'd had the HSTs cut and languishing so for several years. I finally put it together. That's a quarter in the corner; it's 12 by 15 inches. It was an easy finish and I took shortcuts quilting it so I only had to lift the needle once or twice I think. I'm pleased with it.

Belfrybat #1218, three finishes got to be great
Barbm #1224, good seeing you back to the board, I remember a swap in 2011 that you conducted I was a member (black and white bricks), I just started using some the fabric recently, would enjoy seeing pix of your work Janice McC #1225, I know I was referring to it incorrectly, thought maybe I just missed the post. It's a interesting piece, congratulation on the finish Happy sewing everyone |

Janice McC, this is the June finish, isn't my DGD a good teacher, such patience she has.
|
Wow, gone a few days and look at the great start to finishes for June. Terrific!
|
If we keep up this pace, we just might get 300 done for the year.
|
cherrybesixty....nice finishes. The floral one is really nice It seems like floral fabrics are making a comeback. Hope so!
|
No sewing here. Too many other activities on the go.
|
cherrybsixty, congrats on the finishes.
Still working on hubby's quilt but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. While listening to Bonnie Hunter's quilt cam last night I was able to prep some more basket blocks for my "forever" quilt. |
Nice finishes cherrybsixty! Glad you were able to get them posted.
Rob |
Anne2016 #1233, the floral print is from 2015, the WalMart. I was attracted to the color and the polka dots
Rob #1236, finally I understand the process of transfer the pix to the QB, this was my DGD third tutorial with me Thanks everyone for your kind words Happy sewing everyone |
Lovely finishes, cherrybsixty! I agree that the flowers and dots are so appealing!
|
Janice McC, Thank you, you are right and Anne2016, nice quilt. Just love that pattern. Thanks.
Karen |
Allspots, Sorry to hear of your challenges with the fabric, but the quilt is very attractive. Reminds me of a western dance. Nice job and your remarkable persistence. Thanks for sharing.
