Rob, i think this is one of my favorites of yours. The touches of blue are great in there. Very beautiful, krista! Anne, your embroidered quilt is charming! Way to go, everyone! |
Hang in there Wildyard, this too shall pass as the phrase would go.
That is cool to know a weighted quilt helps with Autism symptoms.

Wow, you guys are simply producing some amazing stuff this month. Can't pick a favorite but maybe Krista's creative way with the blocks, setting and edging would edge out. Such a bright, pretty and unique quilt!
So many finishes and I am stuck running to the doctor with stupid health issues that continue to crop up one after another. A CT scan for abdominal issues found an area of concern in my lung so now I am going to a pulmonary specialists. I told DH I don't mind helping to support the area specialists but I think I am doing someone else's share also. I have already been sent by my GI docs to the Cardiologist and Hematologist. Now the Lung people.. sheesh, who's next? I have not neglected quilting altogether, just my UFOs. LOL I made a game on Facebook wherein I gave away a quilt of the same to the first person who could guess what color fabric I had the most of in my stash (cuz I seem to like getting it but not using it). The winner guessed (brown) so I am now making a brown with blues, Churn Dash quilt to give them. I suppose one could consider having stacks of never used brown fabrics UFOs. LOL Also, my grandson is coming on Sunday so I can help him make a weighted quilt to help him when he is dealing with his Autism issues. He is independent and doing well, but some days just needs a little extra comfort which this quilt will help provide! |

Well daughter is finally on the mend and now I am so busy trying to catch up on all my customer quilts and quilt show entries that I am going batty., Then to deal with my back going out and the migranes UGH!!!!
So if I finish my quilting projects for the quilt show, I will have some ufo finishes. Yeah, put those on my list to be done in time. Let us pray it happens. Oh, I did do something other than quilting, my dog took Best of Show at Wheatland County Fair in Ritzville, WA last weekend. It was the only BOS I received. Got a couple of Best of Class, but she took the big one. |
Congratulations to you and your dog, QuilterMomma! She's beautiful and looks very pleased about it.
|
She's a beauty. Both of you have my congratulations!
Glad to hear your daughter is improving.

Two more finishes for me
First, one of my 2 quilts from Bonnie Hunter's mystery last year. I split the blocks in half (ish) and made 2 quilts - one with 9 blocks for me and one with 6 blocks and change to the borders to donate. And a mystery from New Year's Day 2016, that I finally got around to quilting. |
Wonderful UFO finishes, Kristakz. Love the En Provence. Lovely. Congratulations and Toot,Toot!

Two great finishes, kristakz! I really like the NYD 2016 mystery one.

Beautiful finishes Kristakatz!
Quiltermomma- glad to hear your daughter is on the mend! Congratulations on the BOS with your dog-- she looks like a real sweetie! Rob |
Krista, congrats on two fantastic finishes.

I'm in! I have several UFOs.
-There's the quilt I made for a friend that went above and beyond for us. I should have given it to him last Christmas. :( BUT! He just moved into a new house, so I'll give it for a housewarming gift! Saved!!! It just needs to be trimmed and bound...almost there. -Then, there's the "Campfire" quilt, which is almost done. I have it quilted, but found an area that I missed before I went and put the binding on it. I'm thinking of ripping off the binding so I can quilt to the edge and also adding on to it so it's bigger...UGH! - There's the "Asterisk" quilt top that I love, but I' haven't found any backing for it yet. I may just do a pieced backing with scraps...I'll save some money there. - I'm doing a "quicky" quilt for Project Linus. I'm almost done piecing it...still needs to sandwiched and quilted. -There's "Dwight the Deer" pillow cover. I've been working on it lately. The quilting is almost done. Still gotta wash it (and pray it doesn't bleed,) make some piping for it, make a back for it. Should be finished in time for Christmas. - AHHHH! I was going through all of my UFOs the other day and low and behold, I unrolled a quilt back and there, inside, was another quilt top I'd forgotten about! It's ready to be quilted, bound and thrown on my very own bed. Do I have to do ALL of these by Dec. 31st? That's asking a lot. :O ~ Cindy |
OH...September 30th! Well, I can maybe do one, or two of these. Such is the life of a procrastinator.

Janice, those quilts are beautiful!
Also, that pup is a cutie-patooty! ~ C |
QM I'm glad your daughter is doing better. Congrats on your dog's BOS award. Very pretty dog.
Krista = Lovely quilts. I like what you did with the BHMQ projects. And you NYD 2016. My BHMQ top is put together, but I decided I don't like the bright yellow, so I'm going to redo the blocks and see if I like that better. That will be a next month project. Still a WIP for me. Another question. I started a fall W/H last year, but did not like a block. I finally figured out how to finish the block this last week. When it is done, is it a WIP or UFO? I did put it down for a year while I tried to figure out how to finish the project to what I envisioned. I'll go with the group's choice. |
Sew glad to see sew many finishes...WTG folks!
I have a small finish. A couple of years ago I sewed a disappearing pinwheel block from browns and creams...put it on point and added a border from Holly Taylor fall oak leaf print. It's been on my design wall ever since. I made a quick overnight trip to my cousin's...before I left I decided to finish it off as a hostess gift. Yeah I have a UFO done for Sept...sorry no picture...I now have a new camera and cane get back to sharing photos! |
Tropit, welcome. No, you do need to complete your UFOs by any certain date. It's more about simply working on them and finally getting them done. Some of us only have one finish this year, some have several and then there are a handful of very conscientious quilters who've finished a lot more. I just keep track of who and how many and post each month's tally. ANY UFO finish is a win! Be sure to read post #1 for a Little more info and jump in. Sometimes the easiest thing to do is start with the project that needs the least work to give yourself a swift finish. Enjoy!

Thank you all. I am almost done with a UFO. It is waiting to be painted then binding. So close, so close. I am getting excited. Then two more got their borders cut on and then will get them quilted. I feel a bit of excitement to seeing some of my projects come to a complete finish. Yeah, let us be nice, projects instead of UFO.
Oh and the pups name is J.C. When asked what her name meant, they have a category for most unique name, I told them how we named her: We had two poodles that have passed away, one named Jasper, the other Cuddles, hence J.C. JC was born the day that Jasper passed away which is also the day he was born and my daughter's birthday November 22. Special day for sure. I still like to say Just Cause, or Just Cute, or Jesus Christ. |
QM......thanks for posting the name. She is a beautiful dog. I love dogs, the bigger the better. We always had one when we were growing up and DH and I and our family have always enjoyed one or two dogs throughout the years. Our last dog was a mutt. He lived almost 19 years and would have lived longer but he was suffering and we thought it best to let him go. Our kids are all grown and we cried so hard when letting the furbaby go. We will not have another dog. With our age and health problems, we can't give them the attention they need.

yahoo!! our power came back on this afternoon. Now I'm really antsy to leave and it's getting cold here. Suppose to snow at 6000' tonight and tomorrow night and we're at 5400' brrrrr. Been packing fabric and projects to take today, the important stuff:) Have the potatoes and onions from the garden ready to go, dehydrating is done for green peppers and the tomatoes are in the process. We may go ahead and leave next week instead of the end of the month. I'm so ready for a Florida winter.
In the midst of waiting for Irma to be done, didn't get to much sleep for a few days wondering if our house was going to survive, I did get some UFO's out of the drawer and finished! I had a bunch of table runners and wall hangings that needed either the final border, quilting or the binding. and a quilt |

Jaba glad you survived Irma well. Your wall hangs are beautiful. Great way to use your time during the hurricane.
All projects posted are beautiful. Great finishes everyone. Well, I have a finish UFO for September. My AR Crossroad, my friend quilted the quilt on her long arm. I flipped the back up so you could note my backing and binding. It took over 1 1/2 years to complete. I really enjoyed doing this quilt. After I get my sewing room rearranged, I will finish my fall wallhanging. If I don't lose my fabric to go with my wall hanging. So far I'm about 50% done. Tomorrow I will try to clear off my sewing machine area so I can sew the next few days. Try to get a few more UFO's completed. Happy UFO'ing everyone. |
Jaba- glad to hear your Fla. house survived so you can enjoy your winter there. Congratulations on getting 3 UFOs done! I have a question about the second table runner-- is the border element 3D or is that an optical illusion? Either way, It is very intriguing.
Happylab- good job getting your AR crossroad finished, nice scrappy mix! Rob |
Beautiful finishes happy lab and jaba!
jaba, what is the significance of the number 307? |
Happylab your quilt turned out beautiful, love the quilting on it!
Rob, it is 3D, you use a double diamond ruler. They are a little tedious to make but I like the looks of it on some projects. The quilt is the University of Wyoming fabric, batiks, for the Wyoming Cowboys. The 307 is Wyoming's area code. A guy was here picking up his quilt that h had me make, Royal Crown bags, and he saw this and bought it for his wife for Christmas. She went to the university and is a die-hard fan. |
Beautiful Jaba! The 3D is cool. Love the Wyoming quilt.
Happylab, that is a lovely scrap quilt that is finished! Nice job. |
You got to work fast. Congratulations on these 3 UFO finishes. Toot, Toot!

I've got a small WH UFO finish. It's a cross stitch piece from decades ago that I ran across last night and then added borders to, quilted and bound this morning. I'll hang it in my quilting room since it's cats on quilts. LOL. Toot, Toot for me. (It's about 11 by 13 inches and not nearly as misshapen as it appears. Poor prep for the pic.)
|
Janice, Jaba and happylab, I love all your finishes! The crossroads has been on my list for a long time, along with so very many others. LOL
Janice, who could ask for a better wall hanging than cats and quilts. I love it!!!! Jaba, love your wallhangings! Those colors really hit me right in the heart, they are lovely!! And those borders! Wow, just wow! |
Janice, Your wall hanging is beautiful and great job on your x-stitching and wall hanging.
|
Janice...a purrfect hanging in your sewing room. Lovely indeed.
|
Toot Toot Janice!! You've got a lot of hours in that cross stitch piece. I use to do a lot of it and loved it but the eyes aren't what they use to be. Gives me headaches now...Glad you got it finished
|
nice cross-stitch Janice! Perfect for your sewing room!
Rob |
Janice, congrats on the finish. Nice cross stitch...sewing room is the perfect place for it.
jaba...3 finishes....way to go! I, too, like the 3D effect but my fave is the one with Dresdens in the corners. happylab....your AR Crossroads is beautiful. Your friend did a good job on the quilting. |

I think this is my oldest UFO, and now it's DONE! I designed the pattern and made the top back in 2010. Then it hung for ages looking for a backing. And then more ages waiting to percolate to the top of the quilting list. Finally got my act together and quilted/bound it last week, just in time for an upcoming trunk show.

Congrats on the finishes Janice (sweet cross stitch), jaba (whoa 3 ufos done) and happylab (beautiful Arkansas crossroads).
kristakz, wonderful finish. |
