Darling kitties, Janice! Congrats on the finish!
Krista, that is a gorgeous quilt! I have a UFO finish, of sorts. I donated a top to a local guild yesterday, and they will quilt it for charity. I guess that can count in our total, as it's now out of my hands? |
Joe'amok, the I understand the rules it's a count for UFO. Good way to go on your finish.
|
kristakz...nice design. Great color combo too. Congrats on the finish.
|
I really like that Kristakz. Great use of color and design, and the contrast of the organic quilting with the geometric piecing adds another layer of interest.

Toot Toot Janice!! You've got a lot of hours in that cross stitch piece. I use to do a lot of it and loved it but the eyes aren't what they use to be. Gives me headaches now...Glad you got it finished

Wow, kristakz, you finished your oldest UFO! What a fine accomplishment. It's beautiful. A big TOOT, TOOT for you. Congratulations.

I think this is my oldest UFO, and now it's DONE! I designed the pattern and made the top back in 2010. Then it hung for ages looking for a backing. And then more ages waiting to percolate to the top of the quilting list. Finally got my act together and quilted/bound it last week, just in time for an upcoming trunk show.

Joe's mom, that's a UFO finish for sure. Congrats for getting it "done"! Toot toot!

Janice I know exactly what you mean. I've got boxes of books and 2 complete sets of DMC plus extra's just sitting here. Aida in all the sizes and colors. Guess I need to have a garage sale or something but I hate doing those so it's boxed up..If you ever need something let me know, I probably have it :)

Janice and Jaba, there's a place called Stash Unload on the Internet where you can sell stuff to other stitchers. I'd check it out because you might make some new stitcher very happy to get some of your stash.

I'll check that out Maryjane, thank you!
I've been quilting up a storm to get all those UFO's out of the closet and I'm making progress. These will be donated tomorrow for the low income cancer patients through the Powell Hospital. I don't know how long this has been in the closet, I must have been practicing pinwheels:) This one was a batik block swap maybe3 years ago? This one was a black/ white with a strip of red swap that was ages agoand this one I think was a mystery on the internetHave 2 more but the binding isn't done yet and only 6 hanging in the closet. Those will have to wait until next April when we come back to Wyoming for the summer. Feels good having them done and knowing they will be used. |
jaba...you are really on a roll! Congrats on the finishes.
My fave is the black/white/red one....always drawn to r/w/b quilts. Great charity choice too. They will ease the way for some lucky recipients. |
Jaba, beautiful quilts all but I love the batik. Congratulations on your four UFO finishes. It's wonderful that you are sharing your work with folks at a rough time in their lives. :) Toot Toot!

Wow Jaba! Four finishes! You are on a roll! Good job. I like them all, but that red and black calls to me.

Great finishes Jaba!!!!! I like the pinwheel the best.

Thanks quilters, the hospital representative picked 8 quilts up yesterday. I'll let the house sitter know if she asks for more to give them to her. I'm really happy they are being put to a good use. I have thought back and wondered if it helped to have something tangible to hang on to and if I am very honest, I think it did. Friends, family etc. are great but at least for me sometimes I just wanted to be very quiet and by myself.....and at those times I think most always I grabbed a quilt and just hung on.

Here is a September finish to add to the mix! Sorry I have been quite AWOL on finishes this year, but I'm hoping to make some progress this week on some others because I'm on staycation from work this week. These blocks were kits and I chose the sashing/border fabric. It's wallhanging size and headed to my besties house.
|
I think the border/sashing is perfect with the blocks. Wish I was your bestie. Congrats on the finish.
|
Allspots: Beautiful!

Great use of color, Allspots and congratulations on finishing this UFO!

Congratulations on your beautiful finishes, jaba! I especially like the blue one with that zingy green.
Beautiful quilt, allspots! |

Hey all, I have a finish for September. It's 22.5 inches square and has been hanging around waiting to get quilted for 2 years.

Rob...that is another beauty. I really like the colorway. Congrats on the finish.
|
Rob, fantastic finish.
|
That is stunning Krista!
|
Very nice Rob. Love the flange you added.
|
OMG! Great job Jaba! You have been on a roll for finishes. Love these that are done. yeah, all of them. Think I like your first one, stars. You are a rock star girl.
Allspots, that is so pretty. Great colors. |
Ryder: I really like the bright colors.

Thanks QM, just finally trying to get all those block swaps out of the closet and usable. Still have some to go but heading to Florida on Thursday so they will have to wait. Wish I had room for a long arm there but not yet. I should take my Sweet 16 sit down machine there but I just don't use it....to use to standing up& quilting, that's the way I learned. Thought I would when I bought it and have only used it twice. I need to sell it and let someone get some use out of it
Rob, love your wall hanging, nice controlled scrappy and your quilting looks amazing |
allspots..lovely batik quilt, the border is perfect for the blocks.
rob. why do we wait to finish these little ones...I have several that are just crying to be finished. Really like the flanged binding as it pulls your eye to the rust color in the quilt...it sets this little beauty off so well. |
Allspots, your UFO finish is beautiful. Love your colors! Congratulations and TOOT TOOT!

My gosh, just realized I can post my tiny UFO finishes. They're mini-dresdens from a couple of years ago meant for a WH. I wasn't happy with the results so they sat in a cabinet until I made coasters out of them the other day. They're sewn to felt. And for that matter, I also finished a new ironing board cover I started last year. I had only to make the casing. Less than an hour and done. Another UFO I'll count since it's quilting related bc I sure don't use the ironing board for ironing clothes. It hasn't seen a shirt in a year. Or more. (Probably shouldn't admit that.) No pic of that. Toot, toot anyway.
|
Hi Janice. Congrats on the finishes. Cute coasters. I never thought to use felt but next lot of coasters will have felt on back. I have a lot of felt scraps here.
We can start a club. I never iron clothes any more so that's two of us. Anyone else? My sis-in-law irons everything, even towels. She dries all her clothes outdoors on the clothesline so I can see why she irons...sometimes things line-dried have a bit of stiffness to them. We put in a new deck 3 years ago and the clothesline is now too far from the deck for me to use and I told DH not to bother moving it. The only thing I put outdoors is bed linens. I hang them over the deck railing. Well...I went off on a tangent...talking too much. Must get back to sewing if I want any finished projects for September. |
Yay Janice, congratulations on all 4 finishes! I love those Dresden coasters.

Now there is some cute coasters Janice. Good job!!!!!
Here is one UFO finish and several more to get quilted before the quilt show. This one has not been sitting to long, just a year, but was intense to finish. Then a friend showed me how/where to paint to give it a little more modern feel than just quilting. I love it. |
QMomma...that is unusual. Beautiful, intricate quilting. It does have a modern feel to it. Congrats on the finish.
|
Janice M and QuilterMomma: Congrats on the finishes!
