Congratulations on all those finishes Jaba!

Thanks, it was a nice end, each one was very happy to have a little piece.

I like your colors so much more than the ones Bonnie chose. Mine is sitting in a box waiting for assembly. If the colors weren't so disgusting, it would be done by now. Lesson learned.

Kassaundra 05-29-2017 05:38 AM

I like doing the mysteries but seldom use her colors. Before I started doing her mysteries I looked at the previous ones and realized I really like the intriquet patterning and secondary and tertiary patterning, but don't have the same color taste as her, and am not overly fond of the whole "scrappy" feel. So I use my own colors and yardage.

I am home... sweet home!
Thank you to cherrybsixty, Janice and Sync for your thoughts and prayers.
No time to post more as I have loads of laundry to do. TTYl...probably later today.

joe'smom 05-29-2017 08:55 AM

Great finishes, jaba! I love that brown and teal color combo.

anne2016 05-29-2017 10:22 AM

QMomma.....Your swap blocks look great with the chain blocks. That's a good idea for when you have different blocks but not enough to make a quilt. The chain blocks add size and a cohesiveness.

Kassaundra...I agree with all the others....gorgeous quilt!

jaba....you have been busy. Congrats on the finishes. Clever idea, cutting the scrappy into 4 pieces. It's a great way to make memory pieces for the recipients.

Tonight I will be hand-sewing binding. It will be something to do while relaxing with DH.

cherrybsixty 05-29-2017 03:36 PM

Anne2016, I think that I will join you on sitting still and just doing some hand binding. I took part of the VQW and did get some thing completed. I will finish one of my accomplishment and take a pix to add to the thread and it could be a "MAY" finish. Let me get started.

Happy sewing everyone

Kassaundra: That is one spectacular quilt. Love your color choices.

Jaba: Wow, lots done. Love the spirals, and such wonderful quilts. Great job in finishing those.

I finished another one. It has been in the works 12 years or so. They are left over blocks from another fairy frost hunter star pattern I did. They just did not fit there. I found some of the copper fairy frost in closeout at the quilt store, grabbed it, made one last block, put these together and it sat. Now it is done 100%. Yes, I sewed on my binding again and did an edge to edge. I like the quilting from this panto. It was fun, easy enough and had just the right color thread to work, a copper micro quilter thread. Used it in the bobbin as well so both sides show nicely.
And here is a brag, my wedding dress won at the Chewelah quilt show and so did my customer's quilt. Just thought I would share.

cherrybsixty 05-30-2017 12:28 PM

QuiltingMomma, congratulations on your show wins and that's a lovely UFO finish as always.

Happy sewing day

anne2016 05-30-2017 12:44 PM

QMomma...congrats on the wins and on the finishes. The gold/blue blocks is lovely....luxuriant fabric!

Sync 05-30-2017 04:06 PM

QuilterMomma, lovely quilt and congrats on the ribbons.

jaba 05-30-2017 06:47 PM

QM, congrats for sure. The wedding dress looked beautiful!

Kassaundra 05-30-2017 07:30 PM

Great job QM, your wedding dress was awesome, I remember it from a thread you started about it a while back. That "card trick" quilt to the left was posted on a thread here on the QB too recently in the past few days.

Kassaundra 05-30-2017 07:32 PM

LOL LOL LOL Okay give me my dunce hat, that is your quilt QM!!!!!!!!! I wondered why you took the pic of the wedding dress from so far away.

joe'smom 05-31-2017 06:57 AM

Congratulations, QuilterMomma, on those well-deserved wins! So pleased for you.

Finished! Garlic Knots is the block pattern.
Folded over my clothesline. Took a lot of pics but the wind kept lifting the quilt ends. Lucky to get one photo and the colors aren't showing well.

Congratulation QM on your winning GREAT WORK

I just looked through the last four pages -- what wonderful finishes! As usual I am lagging behind.

I finally have a finish, and might have another this evening. Nothing like sneaking in at the last minute. This is a spicy spiral tablerunner that is one of 6 I cut out last year.

I am half-way through binding a quilt, and hope to finish this evening. If I do I'll post it.

Sync 05-31-2017 10:51 AM

anne2016, nice finish.

I've been busy sewing, just not on my UFOs .... lol .... but there has been some progress.

Sync 05-31-2017 10:53 AM

Belfrybat, I like your spiral tablerunner. That is one technique I have yet to try.

anne2016 05-31-2017 10:56 AM

Belfrybat, nice runner. Like Sync, the spiral runner is something I have yet to try.

cherrybsixty 05-31-2017 12:41 PM

Anne2016 #1177, the Garlic Knot, looks good

Belfrybat #1180, the spiral table runner, is good work

I'm on this forum way too much, how can I ever get anything done, I do get a little accomplish

Have a happy sewing day

The spicy spiral is one of my favourites. No seams to match, makes up fast but looks difficult. My kind of of project!
Well I got my hiney in gear and finished binding the brown and batik quilt. Another project done. I have been busy this month quilting three others, but they either aren't UFOs or they still need binding.

Congratulations QuilterMomma on your wins!

Also, congrats to those who have finished UFO's. Way to go!

Kassaundra 05-31-2017 06:56 PM

Belfry awesome job on the batik weave quilt.

JuanitaBean 05-31-2017 06:56 PM

Belflybat like your quilt

anne2016 06-01-2017 03:29 AM

Beautiful quilt, Belfrybat! I like brown with bright blocks. The narrow blue border was a great choice.

rryder 06-01-2017 04:34 AM

Wow! Great finishes everyone.

Rob

joe'smom 06-01-2017 06:10 AM

Great finishes, Belfrybat!

Anne, I love your garlic knots. That navy works really well as a background.

Janice McC 06-01-2017 06:26 AM

Oh, my goodness, Jaba! How many does that make? Six or should it be 9 UFO finishes? Each is lovely in its own way but my favorite is the sentimental one...the scrappy quilt you cut in quarters and finished for the "kids". Congratulations on excellent UFO finishes! :) Toot, Toot!

Bill's family was all here the past 4 days for graduation. This scrappy was the last quilt his Mother was doing before she passed away. 4 kids, so I cut it in 4 pieces, quilted them and finished so each one of them could have a piece. Belfrybat, nice finishes! The brown is really beautiful. Personally, I think brown is underutilized in quilts and this one is a beautiful, rich brown. Nice choice! Congratulations on your two UFO finishes and a double Toot, Toot for you!

Ok, everyone, do we have any last minute UFO finishes for May? If so, please go ahead and post them letting me know they were finished in MAY so I can add them to the month's tally. I'll give everyone a few days to get posts made and pix in if you've got them.

WMUTeach, do you have pix of your two finishes? We'd love to see them.

QuilterMomma 06-01-2017 07:45 AM

Nice job Belfrybat. I love that zinger you used. Batiks are always a favorite. Beautiful job.

happylab 06-02-2017 03:26 PM

I love everyone's completed UFO's. All so pretty and lovely. Too many to just pic one. Nice job everyone. Hopefully in June I will feel in better shape to complete a few projects. I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

cherrybsixty 06-02-2017 04:00 PM

Janice, our great leader, I do have a May finish and I posted of it once a while back. About a top that I finished and gave to my cousin the long armer to quilt as a charity quilt in 2015. She recently return it to me un-quilted just sandwiched. So, I decided that I would quilt it with my walking foot on my 401A. I did get that done last weekend during VQW campaign from the QB. Now all I have to do is a pix. Which I always ask help from my DGD. will get that posted.

Also, I notice your new icon pictured here and it's very lovely.

Happy sewing everyone

QuilterMomma, Congratulations on your fine showing/wins. The quilt and quilting are just wonderful. Love them and thanks for sharing.
