Belfrybat, Great resource link, thanks! :-) A nice pdf file to print too.

I was surprised too, about her use of color. I would have thought that a lake would give more inspiration for using blue, but apparently it was not the lake, but the sunset that was more inspiring?

Not as bright as a lot of the pics on FB, most are bright or loud in a good way, a few or head scratchers!!!! lol

Hmmm, definitely surprised and not loving coral being the dominant color. I'm not even really inspired that much by the design. Time to get creative.

I really like the quilt. One surprise for me is that I thought the turquoise would be the dominant color.
Me too (three? ) I haven't decided if I'm disappointed by that. There is a lot more salmon (green in my case) than I expected. But the brown corner stones help a lot to alleviate that. But onward, regardless. I love the layout. Don't let on-point scare you off, for those worried. Just take it one step (row) at a time!

Christine: Your block is beautiful. The batiks look great!

QRF: Your block is amazing also. I'm excited to see everyone's final block.

I'm excited to try the on point setting. I may be a glutton for punishment, but I'm thinking of maybe a pieces border too.

At first I didn't know if I liked all the coral, but my DH liked it. I'll be watching to see what variations come up before I start. I'm still on clue 7 and with the pressure off, I'm just going to enjoy the process.

Just saw the reveal. I love the quilt design and also thought more aqua/turquoise would be used. I don't understand what setting "on point" versa "off point" means, but by reading this board, I know to be extra careful when sewing these blocks together. I followed BH color scheme but can't wait to see some of the other color choices that people are making. The batiks are beautiful. Happy New Year everyone. Now, to print and catch up on the rapid fire clues.

Lovely reveal... I wanted more blue, too. I'm not sold on the 'on point' setting. I love the blocks looking more like 'x's than '+'s. The last several big quilts I've done were on point and I'm just sick of it, frankly. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I'm just burned out. So... I'll probably do mine in a straight setting and avoid the setting triangles altogether. I can add some sort of pieced border out of the blues.

Marcia, thanks for that vote of confidence!

I like the reveal. It is not as "scrappy" looking as I was afraid it would be. I am not sure how I am going to piece my top. I would have liked more of the aquas in it too. I am not sure if I will go on point or not. Out of the 9 quilted things I have made, 2 have been on point. I will wait until I have more blocks assembled, I only have 2 finished so I cannot get a real good feel for it yet.

I'm so glad that I am not alone about being a little disappointed that the blocks were on point. I also found it difficult looking at her finished quilt, it was just a bit to busy for me. I have some other ideas on how I plan to finish this quilt, hopefully they will work.
