On Ringo Lake -- Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt 2017-18

Ok, I understand which sashing you are referring to but the dilemma is should it be ordered to the top block or the second one? Self and I already had that discussion. We agreed to disagree for now! And if I order it to the first, I should reverse the bottom one. That’s why the design wall is a very valuable tool for me. And picture taking. It gets a bit confusing. I just have to step away from the wall for a bit!

Pat, I really like the way your's looks and with the constant border print....or is that just a coincidence? I've wished that I would have stuck to just 2-4 prints rather than 10 or more. I still struggle with being totally scrappy vs. controlled. It is wonderful to see everyone's work and variances. Kass, your design is amazing and if I ever get going on this again may want to copy you if that is ok.

I am behind quite a bit. Working on clue 5 now. I was frustrated yesterday with this clue. I've decided I do not like doing flying geese. I was in the groove with clue 2 and didn't have any problems, however, I couldn't remember which method I used. Oh well, I'm on the slow train to the finish.

Copy away. If you do you don't need as many dark / neutral FG, or shaded 4 patches, but you will need more of the coral fg.

It's always interesting, as the quilts emerge, to try and understand what works well and less well. There's always some regret, or wishing different decisions were made, but I figure that's the trade-off for the fun of the mystery.

Jane, just work it at your own pace. I did warn all the BH newbies that there would be a huge dump of work at the end. That work is not meant to be wrapped up in a week, as the individual clues were. It's only meant for you to see where your quilt will end up. I really like the "rapid fire" clues this year, as they were really only joins of elements we had already made, and gave us a head start on finishing the blocks and sashings.
One thing nice about going slow: you get to see all the alternate ideas that others come up with and might find some things you like better than Bonnie's way. People will be working on these quilts for the rest of the year, up until the next mystery. I still have my Allietare in blocks on my design wall! That's one of my UFO goals for 2018.

I used the "Easy Angle" ruler for the wings, and the "Companion" ruler for the geese ... because I already had this ruler. Looking at Bonnie's "Essential Triangle" tool, I wish I had that instead because it will do the work of both the Easy Angle and the Companion triangle.
I made the chevrons using the "mark and cut" method because I didn't trust myself to cut the parallelograms accurately. Lots of waste.

Hi everyone's MQ layouts are looking great, it's like we are all painting the same picture but with our own variations.
Kass yours is wonderful as ever, will this layout put 4 9-patches together our will you have sashing in between?
This photo is of what one person is doing on FB, doubling the sashing (gasp) as much as I hate doing these this will never happen in my block. With the 2 blues I used, navy and aqua I think the aqua setting blocks will work okay. I have never set a quilt on point, so I may need some help with that. It's always scared me off before.
