Here's my Singer 115 neatly secure in the treadle base I had my 66 in.
Really looking forward to sewing with this beautiful machine.
Hubby needs to tighten the leather belt, as it is considerably looser than when the 66 was in.
Hopefully he will be able to do that this evening.

Nancy, if you get it and don't like it I will buy it from you. You might have to store it for awhile before I can plan a trip up north or one of my friends coming this way.

Did I get that wrong? I think Vintagemotif sent the link out and Quilt Addict said she wants the machine if I don't keep it? I'm confused!

    Nancy
CONGRATULATIONS Nancy, look forward to seeing the pictures. Can I come visit it? ;)

I love this. If for whatever reason you end up with one that doesn't have a machine, why not put it to another use. I'd definitely have one of these in my house.

I don't dislike the use of a redundant treadle for a bathroom sink, but I think the plumber should have been shot - that is definitely a case of an insensitive waste pipe fitting, if ever I saw one.

That's a very pretty machine I love all the decal work. Have fun trying it out.

LOL, Lacelady: I have to agree. It is rather unsightly. He/she could have done a much better job of making it less visable for sure. I've seen many vanitys over the years made from vintage and antique furniture. Personally I love it if it's done right.

    What is "TO?"

Miz Johnny, you said the latest Davis Vertical Feed takes a regular needle. What years are you talking about? This machine is probably pre- 1900 to very early 1900. The patent date on the slide plate is 1886. The machine itself is in very good shape, minus a few decals. I can't find a SN nor a site to date the machine if I do find a SN?
    Nancy
The Davis longs (Boye 10, Singer 1 x 2, Free FF) are obsolete. You can still find them sometimes, but you will pay a premium price. That's why we're constantly trying to find substitutes.

TO refers to Treadle On, an online site that has been around for 12+ years. It has a digest, an active membership that gets together around the country (and in Canada and Australia, for that matter) for people-powered sewing machine madness at various times throughout the year.

Here is a site that shows the different models:

    Easy to find and inexpensive.

Both machines are in desperate need of bathing and polishing.
The Deluxe cabinet is sturdy, but it needs cleaning as well.

Billy can you tell me anything about this Deluxe machine? I can see it is a badged Japan machine. The motor says Japan on it. No where on the machine itself is there any indication of where it is made. Here is the Serial # 59685. Aren't you keeping records of Japanese made machines?

Billy, thank you for all your insight and advice you share on this thread and throughout the forum. We are really blessed to have such a gifted and talented man to go to when we have questions. You rock..............

Sandi, your 99 machine and case look just like mine, in about the same condition, even the base. Cool. I have sewn on it quite a bit. Hey Sandi, you rock!!!!
