QNS--beautiful walk around the house. Bummer we won't be able to meet. Praying your friend can get her family problems worked out soon.

Anael I did not make her dress, she bought it on the Tuesday and the Ball was on Friday. I am 28 years older than her but we are very very close and I just love her to bits.

QuiltE - she has lost 33 kilos or 72 lbs so far. She is a member of a gym and they hosted a 12 week fitness and weight loss challenge and she participated. They had boot camps and participants had to work out and do as many different exercise classes as possible to earn points. There were 80 people who completed the challenge and Friday night was the Masquerade Ball to announce the winner. Whilst she did not win the first prize which was $10,000 she is continuing on her journey and is thinking of participating in the next challenge which starts in August.

Carriem - haven't thought too much about the Quilting on the Square blocks at this points, but might look at them when I have a couple more ufo's finished.

QNS - more beautiful photos of your gardens thank you

JanRN - I like the cargo plane idea

Yesterday I finished piecing the blocks for Smith Mountain Morning, all 56 of them, so today my plan is to "try" and get the top all pieced and maybe think about the borders. Not sure if I like the border that Bonnie has put on her quilt. And I just have to sew the binding on Star Struck so that is another job to do this week. Then I am going to line up my project boxes and see what can be finished next, well that is the plan, but something "new" might just distract me

Karen--I looked up the Smith Mtn pattern and wow that is a lot of work! Good job. I can see how the borders might not be my first choice either. What colors did you do it in? I am with you on the Quilting on the Squares blocks...just trying to get some more UFOs done first. I have at least 2 I want to get finished this month.

I *should* be able to get the one I am working on now done this week. It uses a free pattern called "Vanilla Sky" by Benartex. I changed the pattern by making it rectangle (repeating part of the block and adding to the top and bottom; each block is 24"!) and changing the borders to a narrow one and then a piano key since I didn't have enough of any one fabric to do the borders like the original pattern. I bought the fabric before choosing a pattern...it was a big sale a couple years back "buy 7 yds get 7 FREE".

No sewing this weekend...busy yesterday and today just taking it easy in the house...spending lots of time on the QB looking at photos of quilts.

Carriem I used browns and blues scrappy with the same background fabric as my constant. My DS is a bit finicky with quilts and doesn't like loud colours or florals so a bit hard to make him quilts. His favourite colours is black, but not mine and I find black really hard on the eyes to quilt.

Laundry is all done, floors mopped, kitchen tidied up so I am off to the sewing room, at least until DH gets home from fishing

Thanks for more quilt pictures--I've enjoyed the variations so much.

gardnergal970 I just loved your Pony Club Quilt with the stepping stone blocks. Really beautiful and so creative!

QuiltingNinaSue The bright colors that you used on your quilt are lovely. What a wonderful addition of the fence and farm scenes. It does make it one-of-a-kind. Thanks, too, for the photos of your property. So pretty!

Anael I'm very sorry to hear about your brother.

QNS, thank you for the lovely walk around your house!

QuiltE, no, sorry, no new pictures. Next time I'll take my camera with me and make pictures myself!

Mirabelle, beautiful Smith Mountain Morning! I wish I could accomplish as much as you do Maybe I should spend less time at the computer?

It's flipped sideways so you have to tilt your head to the left
