I've asked my family and friends to all bring the quilts I've made and put them at the funeral home instead of flowers, it's my passion and what I love to do, if they want flowers let whatever kiddos are around pick those wonderful weed kind or dandelions, those are what my babies and grands brought for me to put in a jar and I loved them. So just a jar of "wildflowers" and surrounded by the quilts I loved to create is all I need.

So why not get the funeral director to help you in your cause? Maybe he could suggest that since it's something she really wanted it would be a nice thing to do. JMHO
    May have to try this.
Today Grandma was a new woman from yesterday. My brother-in-law has taken to calling her the energizer bunny. She is excited about the STL. Cardinals in the World Series!

I just attended a funeral for a young man last week who was big into John Deere. On his casket was a John Deere Quilt as well as small tractors that he had a collection of.
It was so sad as he was only 48, but I had to smile at the quilt being there. It was comforting to see it there.

It is a good thing to do, but I don't want people looking at me now, let alone with I am dead and gone.
my mom is going 94 has always if you don't have time to come see me when I am alive, then don't bother when I am dead.
