No I wouldn't even though the cause was great. You'll make more charging less, say $2 or three for five for so many more folks will buy them.

We have quilter here in my town, who every year puts together a quilt for "The Quilts of Valor" Raffle. The raffle is to raise money for postage and more fabrics - batting & supplies for the Wounded Soldiers Quilts we make and send to these heros in the hospitals. The US Post Office will not give a break and/or special rate for the mailing costs ..... thus the reason for this yearly quilt fundraiser raffle.

The tickets are $1.00 each - or - 6 tickets for $5.00. I bought $5.00 worth of tickets .... and honestly was going to buy more tickets as the sale went on, until the raffle was held. They sold over $5,000 worth of tickets and one day I got a phone call ..... that I had won the 2009 Quilts of Valor.

I believe the more attractive the price of tickets are .... the more tickets are sold .... thus the more $$$ are raised.

I have spent many a $5.00 on quilt raffle tix, sometimes I buy one, sometimes as many as four. If they are $1.00, I am still buying a min of 5 to a max of that $20.00. I never expect to win anyway

With the economy the way it is....I think $5 is a little too much, and unfortunately some won't be able to afford one. I would do $2 each or 3 for $5. That way, those who can afford the $5 will buy anyways; and those with less are more apt to buy 1.

You would raise the same amount of money if you sell them for $1 each or 6 for $5. People will just think they are getting more for their money. Recently sat all day selling tickets, and more for your money idea sold more. You still are getting $5 out of each person.

We sell ours for $1 each or 6 for $5.00. The majority of people pay the $5 for 6.

For our quilt raffles, we get $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
They are given to each member in sets of 24 ($20 worth) to sell. I usually buy $40 worth, and one year I did win!! It is a thrill to win. I know where we live, people will spend five dollars for six tickets more quickly than one for $5. It will cost a bit more in tickets, but (depending on your public) you will sell more because people are getting more chances to win. We have made lots of sales doing this.
