How much space will you be able to use?
What about tables?
Who will be doing the petting?
Approximately how many petters are expected?
Apparently this is going to be a "touchable" show?
I think I would prefer to see fewer machines and learn more about them - than to see a whole bunch and learn little about any of them.
I am a novice at these old machines - so I go by "pretty" - "looks like it should go in the trash" - and "does it work"?
I really like the handout/business card idea - as someone said - some of the "looks like it should go in the trash" machines might be rescued - and some of the "pretty/cute" ones might still be used as sewing machines and not turned into lamps or some sort of "tractor"

The derelicts sure won't be harmed by people touching them. I will have some set up to just sew paper - that way nobody gets thread tangled for me to undo. There are some machines that aren't all there and might work for that. Some of the idea is just to get people to try something out. The paper is a lot of fun for kids and they can walk away any time their parents are ready to go. Most of the time the kids want to stay longer than the parents. I don't know if this event is for kids or adults. No idea.

You are SSOOOO not intruding... Ask or say anything - we are a pretty crazy bunch. Nobody here has all the answers. We are all learning new things everyday. You have a lot to contribute and I hope you keep doing it.

I love to show children my treadle and hand crank machines. I ask them if they would like to see a "wireless" sewing machine. They are usually very taken with the hand crank because even the little ones with the short legs can run it. Of course I supervise them!

My machines are in the 30 to 50 year old range. (Hard to believe that my Pfaff 1471 is pushing 30!) I only have one black one - and that's a Necchi BU - I think that might be around 60 years old.
Can I still play?
