And there are several W&W #8's on this thread some even in their Parlor Cabinet. I see the early W&W's all the time so they are out there. What I am looking for are a few of the Antebellum machines to add to the collection.

Billy, I did a search for Wheeler & Wilson on this forum and I can't find the WW #8's. I'd love to see one. Maybe, that is what the guy in the VA hospital has?

I will have to google "Antebellum" I don't know what that is?

Geeze $4,000 starting bid -- I wonder how many of those machines exist today? I didn't even know there were wooden machines!

    Nancy
That machine is incredible - I had no idea that wooden ones were made - I wonder what the stitching was like? So which one of you on this board is going to buy it?

Ok Billy after I sent this I figured out that you were not referring to a particular machine, you were just referring to pre-civil war stuff?

Pre and during the civil war machines. Industrials would even be better knowing that they sewed Confederate uniforms.

The wooden machine is a patent model. They made the pre production machines out of wood to see what worked and didnt work. That machine is one of one that was ever made. The Smithsonian has sales every few years to clean out their attic so to speak and a few patent models will show up here and there. I have seen Singer patent models go for less than $100 bill. The next one I will be at so I can but up as many as my bank account will allow me to buy.

    NOOOooo, no, no, no......

I have been looking for the Lotus Decal!!

OH, it is so nice. You are lucky.

I guess that is one more off the chance for me to find one.

I actually like the Lotus better than the Red Head.

WELL, that means I will have to look all the more carefully, won't it.

Happy for you, more determined for me :-)

    Aardie.
