By the way, Billy, have you had time to take a picture of the thumb screw I need to loosen to FMQ on my 66? I want to FMQ on the Redeye because it is sitting behind a sectional in the living room. I could sit in there and treadle while still spending time with my DH.

Or is it not possible to drop the feed dog on the Redeye?

Miz Johnny do you send all your quilts out to be quilted or do you have a long arm?

I have a long arm, but I am so intrigued with the treadles that I have been taking FMQing classes so I can FMQ my smaller quilts on a treadle.

I never finish anything. There are benefits to being ADD. I have unfinished projects all over the place, and I don't care.

Billy or anyone that knows, can I use the bobbins for my Model 15 in the 66 Redeye?

You are so funny! I don't know whether to believe you or not? Although, I have a very good friend who comes to Girls Night Out that has not finished any of her quilts. She doesn't even get them completely pieced!

I envy people like that -- I have to finish everything I start!

Billy, I received the bobbin plate for my Redeye today! Thank you so much!

Now, can I lower the feed dogs so the 66 will be my FMQing machine?

NO, At least the bobbins in my 15-90 doesn't work in the Singer 66 Lotus that I own (1907), different shapes.

You know you could just clean up that 9W. I bet it would clean up really nice and they are so nice to treadle. Besides, you have one of the few that are actually made with the Wheeler & Wilson parts. That 'W' in front of the serial number tells you how rare that machine is.

Great find.

Nancy,
After reading over the post this past week on the history on the 9Ws, I have decided to do what you have suggested and I will be cleaning her up. Thanks for sharing your information on the history that you found. I enjoy reading the history also.

For your record that you are keeping on the 9Ws, my serial number is W22105. That dates it at beginning 1911 and records are lost according to the Singer site. I think mine may be the Singer 9W7

Especially since you like the history aspects, do you know about this Serial Number stuff? I have two different SN lists from Singer and I believe the more detailed list but am concerned that both lists don't agree.

From http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_2letter.html
AE-064.366 to AE-365.140 were made in 1936

But from http://www.singerco.com/pdf/SINGER_AE_nos.pdf
AE- 699591 749590 15 50000 November 4 1937
15 is the (Model No.)

Do you understand this??
And, what does 'allocated' mean? They could not have manufactured 50,000 machines on Nov 4th!! No way! loll"

Any help of info i can pass on to him, would be greatly appreciated! Kim

(i wish it was mine!)

This isn't a Featherweight. It is a 1937 Singer 15 with the RAF decal I think), but it looks like the flying bird decal in the center is long gone. The other decals on the machine look like the decals that go with the RAF.
