Blinky- very nice machine...just like mine in my avatar..cabinet and all. Your decals on the bed are better, mine are worn. I was supprised to find the shiney gold paint on the irons when I cleaned them up.
BoJangles- what grease should I have been using on the foot pedal and where? {the ball of the pitman and both sides of the pedal?} I just dripped oil into those spots.

It is a Golden Stitch-n-sew with a Number of A709-5 13351 on it. Off to see what she was given. Never know what you find and where you might find it and it is one HEAVY machine. Love the hunt!

Just was wondering if this was after 1975 and the cutoff date for vintage?

I think everyone on here is waiting for someone else to answer this puzzle as it is very confusing, actually a little mind boggling to me?

H, no I didn't post a picture just some info. Here are a couple pics. The machine is in great condition but the case I think may be shot. It is a Montgomery Ward machine made in Japan no. is H4810293
Mary did you post a picture that I missed?

I like that mystery. Very pretty. I tried one once, it didn't go well. Someday I'll try another one.

Wow, that is another Model 15 clone! You probably will never find out the year it was made. Those serial numbers were not kept. There were several companies making Japanese clones of Singer's Model 15 and 99 during the 40's, 50's, and 60's. There are a lot of people who like those Japanese clones better than the original Singer machines -- the clones I have seen are actually better made with more detail.
You have a very nice machine!
