I have gotten both 127's working, but the 66 isn't picking up the bobbin and I don't have instructions for it.

deplaylady and quiltdoctor, you have done wonders with your machines! The boxes are just right for them - kudos to Glenn as well.
I had not thought of veneer for the repairs. Thanks for the reminder that the product is out there and available, and for the great example of how it can turn out.

I will be back with hopefully a good status report. We're babying a vintage Singer 66 and hope to get it working more smoothly in the near future. I just haven't found the time to get it all apart and properly oil it yet.

Try retheading your machine, try changing your needle, take out the bobbin and put it back in. Kathie
That is one of the problems, I'm not sure how to thread the bobbin through. And it really need a deep cleaning. But it's too wet to take it outside and give it a bath.
When you put your bobbin make sure the thread is coming from the top of the bobbin and bring it towards you. Put it throught the slit in the bobbin case and bring the thread to the back of the machine. It threads just like the bobbin on the new machines. Kathie

good hint on the veneer...didn't know you could do that..could I do the top of my cabinet where the veneer has lifted in places...should I remove the old before I do that. Its just the top that is bad and rippled in places. I don't know if I have a picture of the top but will look

I look at everyones machine and what a beautiful job they have done on cleaning them up. Our machines are so blessed to have someone who cares about them to see that they are well taken care of. We are so blessed to have them. My hats off to each and every one of you.  Keep up the good work and help save a part of our past. Kathie
