I spent the better part of an hour trying to get the grocery ad unstuck off the floor. I got several layers off but that last layer is still stuck. I got my 2 3in1 tables working - the ironing pad is fantastic. I can cut on one table and iron on the other and sew too. I've started cutting pieces for a quilt for the little man (2 year old GS) out of old shirts. I had to quit - my neck was sore. I'm thinking there is enough to make a patch quilt, and some patchy skirts out of sleeves and maybe a baby quilt for the one due in December. I hope everybody will 'match' - DH had some shirts he didn't want anymore. I still need better lighting. That place is so dim. I'm picking up a Spartan to rehab this morning.

I'm thinking I'll wait awhile until I come up with something I want to do that she does best... Like a few baby things. I have a good bunch of discs. I have two new GBs coming - one in Dec and one in Jan.
Miriam, Congratulations on the two new babies on their way into your life! That is exciting!

edited to add - never mind the second - it's interesting, but I don't need another Kenmore. Going for the 15, I think.
I'd go for the 15! That one should be in a treadle - forget about the ad saying no motor - it doesn't need a motor! It is a very early 15, most 15's did not have the decals! Go for it girl! You know the slide plate and bobbins are readily available for the 15's! I'd love to have a 15 with those decals - most are plain!

Texas Jan, both those machines are really nice! I'd get them working and keep them!

The 15 does have the mount for the motor if you wanted to motorize or HC it.

Yep Lee, that is a very good point! I vote for the hand crank - if you don't have a treadle to drop it into!

Miriam, I agree. This is where I come to learn about the machines, and to listen to all the talk about them. I have little to add to the conversation, as I am not as accomplished as others. But it is a group so needed. No one in my corner of the world, not even my DH, understands my love for the vintage machines.

Thanks to everyone here for being part of the shop, and so helpful, sharing what you have learned about the vintage machines.

You no doubt have a ton of wisdom - the rest of us just pool our ignorance... join in.

Oh my--jump on that 1st one. A new plate wouldn't be that hard to find, and the decals are so pretty! You can't go wrong at that price.
Yay! Just got an email - talked to Tim going to go look at the 15. I asked - he said it had the bobbin case. He also has a 99 that someone else is looking at. I don't know how I missed that one. He found these at garage sales and picked them (the 15 and 99) up thinking he could sell them and make a buck. He must have found them CHEAP!

(I looked it up - this is the 99 he had - )
