I'm upset...he didn't like it

I love it and I think it is very beautiful and patriotic. I am so sorry he hurt you. HUGS
I know which family/friends will appreciate my home-made gifts and make sure to only grace those people with my handmade love and time and effort. Some people will never change, so I just stop at Walmart to get their gifts, or get gift cards. Unfortunately some people are impossible to please. So so sorry.

I once oil painted a scene with a reef shark for my husband. He complained so much about how inaccurate it was that I ended up giving the painting to my brother (who loved it). That was the last thing I ever painted :(
I'm so sorry this happened to you. It is a beautiful quilt.

I am so sorry that your father did not appreciate your lovely quilt. He must have been having a really bad day and took it out on you. Bet in time he will really appreciate all your hard work. Please don't take it personally, my father would sometimes say things that really hurt my feelings. I would just say something back like "well, I love you anyway". Then he would quiten down. Please don't let this one unhappy time steal your joy. You did make a beautiful quilt and it was from the heart, there is no greater gift. I can promise you that others will be so very thrilled when you make something for them. So...chin up and keep sewing. Sewing soothes the wounded spirit. Can't stay sad when you are making a beautiful quilt...right?

This is my first post, I was shocked to read your msg.
I'm still trying to make a whole quilt without making any mistakes and it's taking me forever.
Yours looks wonderful, it's his loss

Dear T, i'm sorry that your Dad wasn't happy about your gift.I like what you've done. it does seem "patriotic" to me.Dad's are all different, I wixh mine was with us to be able to disagree with. He passed awy 7 years ago the 22nd of June.
He'll come around give him time.

That has happened to me with my parents and it really hurts. You learn to give to others and ignore the ones that don't appreciate the time and effort that goes into our quilting. Don't worry. Someone else will love you if he can't. We all love you.

That is so unkind and I really feel for you. I think the quilt and your work is beautiful. Just remember the fun and joy you had in working it and know he is the loser for not appreciating either the work or the thought.
