Oh, Charlee, I may have said this before but It bears saying again!! How in the world do you find all these machines? :((

:) I just go "junkin". We hit thrift stores and antique shops in the area, sometimes hit the jackpot, sometimes don't see a thing! Don't forget to go to the Habitat for Humanity Re-Stores and places like that... HFH Re-Store is where I saw 3 of the machines yesterday...and two on Tuesday at another one of their stores. People try to sell these machines at yard sales, thinking they're going to get $50 or $100...when they don't sell, they donate them.

Those decals actually aren't bad for a W&W! (The decals on W&W machines are known to blow away easily) I no longer have one, and never had a manual for either it or the 9W....but your thread will go from the spindle, through the thread guide at the top, through the upper tension, lower tension, through the hole in the take-up bar, and then down through the guides to the needle, which threads left to right.
You need "Bagel" bobbins for it, and 127x1 (Singer number) needles, or Boye 18 needles.
The attachments aren't exactly "back clamps"...the machine has a split shank, and takes the hooked attachments.

Don't give up hope. I just found my 2nd FW for $75 at a junk store. She needs electrial work and a good cleaning, but other wise in good shape. Now I want to "find" a white one.

Its a hopeless addiction but a good one to have, although it is harder to hide the machines like you can your fabric..... :roll:

I stopped counting machines and I am picking them up like there is no tomorrow these last few weeks. I think I increased my personal collection by 5 or 6 machines and the rest will be serviced to sell to quilt shops and who ever wants them. But I am starting to get into the industrial machines and I am going to pick up another W&W today. I need to take some photos of them to post here and on the pitcure section, but I still have tons of catching up to do after I get back home this weekend.

I love reading about everyone's finds. Since I've been bitten by the bug I've only seen one treadle it was at an estate sale, looked kinda rough and they were asking $195 - firm. I know when the time is right they will start appearing. Maybe the "machine gods" know I don't have time to work on one right now.
