Good luck NZquilter! I gained close to a hundred pounds when I had my son, from 126 to 212. LOL, fat never melts off me! It's taken me 30 years but I'm below 200 now.

I mostly do high protein/low carb, basically the "standard" non-fad diet which is the basis of weight watchers. My problem though is I am now diabetic, or at least my diabetes is currently under control by diet. So I have to be a bit stricter than most and "nothing white" is my mantra. White = bread/pretty much anything baked, pasta, rice, potatoes and sugar.

Weight watchers is also stressing (at least what I see from the outside) slow changes of lifestyles rather than fast weight loss. That's important. This past year my weight has been stable, haven't really lost any but I take any year I don't gain as a positive. For some of us there is no just "getting the weight off", the problem is keeping it off.

I've been content with my changes which were mostly to keep my blood/body from killing me and not so much about the weight loss. Currently though, I've been thinking of taking off about 20 more pounds. But for these I'm motivated more by vanity than health so I don't know what I'm up for.

But I am up for eating better than I was a month ago and I'm doing that. Summer here so lovely vegetables at the farmer's market. Hubby is Keto and has lost almost 200 pounds in about 20 months... he is less than 5 pounds from his goal which is 185 and what he weighed in High School (I am now 190 and was 140). But he is switching from weight loss to maintenance and so leaner proteins which fit well with my salads.

I'm still doing WW, and am 110.4 pounds down now. However, the weight loss has slowed waaaaaay down recently, and some weeks I backslide for no apparent reason. How frustrating! I never ate my weekly points until a few weeks ago, but I started eating some of them to see if it made any difference. I lost a little more, but now I'm stuck again.

I can't help but wonder if there's a point (pun intended - ha!) where WW stops working efficiently, and whether I need to change things around somehow. Maybe I should start counting calories in addition to, or maybe instead of, counting points. (??) I'm a creature of habit, and eat virtually the same thing every single day, so maybe I should mix up my foods more. Plus, I'm having occasional days where I feel like I'm absolutely starving, and nothing satisfies me ... at least nothing within my point allowance. (Chocolate cravings ... bad!) It's driving me crazy!

Something else I've noticed is that when I don't sleep well, the scale doesn't move ... or worse ... goes backwards a bit. This week, I've been running on an average of 4 hours of sleep per day. I fall asleep quickly, but then "nature calls" a few hours later. Afterwards, I can't go back to sleep. I guess Monday (weigh-in day) will be interesting.

Oh well. I'm trying not to let it get to me. Slow is better than nothing!

I found that I lost weight easily while nursing my boys. Maybe the girls will have you "hopping" so much that the weight will melt off!

I'm new to the Quilting Board. I joined WW in 2001, lost 39 pounds, and became LT in September of that same year. The opportunity to work for WW and help other men and women achieve their goal was presented to me. This December will be my 18th year working for them. Changing my eating habits back in 2001 enabled me to keep my weight off. The year I turned 60 I started hiking with my daughter and while on a vacation in Arizona I caught the hiking bug and have since hiked in Iceland, the Canadian Rockies, the Great Smokies, NY and locally here in NJ. This year I added Vermont and New Hampshire. Without WW and my precious daughter, none of this would ever have been possible.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I've been at a near-standstill for soooo long, but am down 115.6 now. Yeah, just 5 pounds since the last time I posted. Sigh! But ... better 5 down than 5 up, so I'm not going to complain too much.

I saw that they added two new plans yesterday: Green and Purple are new, and they're calling the regular plan Blue now. With Green, you get more daily points, but fewer zero-point foods. With Purple, you get fewer points, but a ton of zero-point foods, including potatoes.

I decided to go with Green, which seems to have more structure. It's possible I was overeating zero-point foods (namely yogurt!), so Green will force me to count that yogurt, and many more previously-free foods as well. About the only zero-point foods on the Green list that I like are apples, bananas, and applesauce, so those will be my only freebies.

After my first goal of losing 100 pounds (done - yay!), my second goal is to weigh less than my DH. I'm within about 5 pounds of him now. I would've reached that goal months ago, but the little stinker lost about 15 pounds as a "side effect" of us not eating at restaurants much anymore. He basically reset that goal for me! LOL! My third goal is to be under 200 pounds. I'm sooooo close. Hopefully the new Green plan will get the scale going down again.

Some NSVs: My original wedding rings fit again. My high school class ring fits again. That's three ring sizes down. I had to break down and buy some more new clothes. Instead of having to mail-order them from plus-size companies, I was able to go in and buy clothes at Walmart. That was awesome (and waaaay cheaper). I'm enjoying going hiking, and can go about 1.5 - 2 miles now. I'm much more heat-tolerant than I used to be, too. Anything over 70 degrees was miserable to me. It was 102 degrees, with a 117 heat index, at one of my craft fairs this summer, and although I wasn't exactly thrilled about it (LOL!), I wasn't a completely miserable mess, either.

One not-so-great thing: Loose skin. My thighs, backside, and tummy look like deflated balloons. Unless I win the lottery (ha), cosmetic surgery isn't really an option, so I'll just live with it. It's still better than carrying all that extra weight, and my clothes cover it up anyway. My "bat wings" are still there (and are still flapping! LOL!), but I think they've shrunk a little bit.

Anyway, that's where I'm at now.

Moonrise- that is fantastic!!! I'm really happy for you
As for me- we started Keto this summer and were doing well but then my first grandchild was born, which has nothing to do with anything food but we fell off the bandwagon. Grrrr!

I will say this - while Keto helps you lose weight I think WW is far more sustainable.

I went on WW two years ago and lost over 50lbs - then they started the "FreeStyle" program. After 4 weeks I hadgained 9 lbs and was so discouraged I left. A bit ago my leader told me theybrought back the smart-points plan under the new name of "greenplan." I signed back up - I weighed in at 28 lbs heavier than when I left.Here is what I learned - my main problem is portion control. If you tell me afood is free - well I am probably going to stuff myself with it beyond all reason.FreeStyle is much freedom for someone like me :-( it's so sad becauseI wish all those foods could be free – but I abuse portion sizes and so theFreeStyle program was the worst thing for me. 4 days into this and I am 3 lbsdown on my beloved smart points….er…..green program. Beware – pick the planthat you know will help you fight your weaknesses ��

I was nursing my #2 daughter and doing WW. My diet was modified for a nursing mom. They did have a modified program for nursing mom's. I lost close to 70 in 6 mos. I nursed my daughter for almost 2 years.

I'm in where I wasn't before. I've joined what seems like hundreds of times. I get to about 15 pounds to goal and quit for whatever reason. This time, I am truly working the program. I've been in 7 weeks and I've lost 16.6 pounds. For anyone on the fence about joining, this week is when they unveil the new 2020 program. There are 3 ways to follow the plan so there should be something for everyone. It feels like the first of the year when everyone seems to start a new diet. So I am inviting everyone who wants to to join this week. It's great.
