March Weight Loss 2016

Maggie, I eat better when hubby is gone too - but he always has a garden salad in the fridge. Gotta count for a lot. He is already talking about hitting the after-Easter goodies sales.
My eating is a day to day struggle for discipline. Can't explain my lack of control. I know that is why some of us are here. I'd rather be quilting.
We are well, for which I am extremely thankful. I pray everyone is having a blessed week.

I bought a couple of little things of candy for my DGD's basket but the only thing I bought for me an my hubby is a box of 4 cadbury creme eggs. We each ate one today. Can't believe I shared with him!
I found some of the info in this article interesting - like an "older woman" is one in her 50's. Humph!!

I bought a bunch of candy today. Hopefully I can mostly stay out of it. I plan on making a basket for my 2 grandsons and granddaughter. Also one for my mom and uncle. I need to fill some eggs for an easter egg hunt also. I bought Reeces peanut butter eggs which I find hard to resist. Lucky for me they didn't have any Reeces pieces eggs those are my favorite. To me they don't taste like regular Reeces pieces at all. I love love love them. Someone had some at the quilt retreat but I only ate 4.If I had brought some home they would have been gone by now.
I am finding it really tough to lose weight after menopause. My co-worker has the opposite problem. She is going thru menopause and keeps losing weight and doesn't want to. She has lost 35 pounds in the last 2 years caused by menopause. Her dr said a few women do this. She is trying to gain most of it back.
Everyone stay strong this weekend with all of the temptations around. Don't completely deny yourself, you can have a little treat now and then. Happy Easter everyone.

I have never heard of anyone losing weight because of menopause but maybe that is why my MIL is so tiny. She used to be a normal size. I had gained 35 lbs since my hysterectomy in 2006 but have now lost it. Still need to lose 10-15 lbs to be at a healthy weight.
We went to a Chinese buffet for dinner tonight. I try to take mostly veggies. I even had a salad. I limit the fried food - had 1 piece of sweet and sour chicken but I did have to have 2 pieces of crab rangoon. That's my favorite! I only eat the yummy center part though and leave the rest on my plate.
I'm watching the Badgers play Notre Dame tonight. Close game. Ooh, it's just down to seconds and the Badgers are ahead by 1. Gotta go!
Boo! How the heck did the Badgers end up losing by 5 points?

Hey everyone. I just wanted to say we are all finally on the mend. *knocks on wood* March certainly was a rough month! Hoping everyone has a wonderful Easter! Not sure of the weather this weekend but heard a polar vortex is coming...yuck!

My SIL and niece talked me into a weekend Fitbit challenge. My niece is visiting NYC. Not sure if I can beat her this weekend, but I have 16,000 steps in for today. I went to spinning this morning and rode 22 miles, then to my group power class for an hour. Apparently the group power class counts a lot of it as stairs because my fitbit says I have gone up 42 flights of stairs today. We do tons of squats and lunges. I also went shopping. I couldn't find any cute clothes but I did get some cute shoes.
Don't eat too many goodies tomorrow. Happy Easter to everyone. The weather is supposed to be beautiful here, except maybe rain in the evening. The grandkids will be here all day Monday. Hopefully we can go to the park.
