Make a paste of baking soda and water or more water than baking soda. Cover the inside bottom of the pan and heat it on the stove for a few minutes. Stay and watch as it is on the stove. You should see the stains and burns lift out. Repeat as needed. Also make a paste of the mixture and scrub it on to the outside bottom of the pan. This truely does work. You just have to play with the amount of baking soda and water combo. If you are doing the inside of the pan you can put about 1/2 cup of water and about 1/4 cup of baking soda and heat it until it boils. Stay and watch the pan while it is on the stove until the liquid is almost gone. If you don't want to heat the pan then make the paste and scrub it.

I would try calling the local steel fabricators or find them online, and ask them before you risk anymore damage. I burnt a pan badly about a month ago. I used hot water to soak for two days, then used SOS on it. It is still stained, but I have my pan to use. You also might try steel polish for appliances, but be VERY careful to wash/rinse completely before using. My pan is not as nice or pricey like yours, but it took me years to find these pans with straight sides, and I will not give them up if I can help it.

Try oven cleaner to the outside. Dishwasher soap for the inside as a paste. Let sit in a plastic bag a few days and then wash.

Make sure whatever you do to NOT DO IT IN THE HOUSE!!!!
Sorry, didn't mean to yell, but the fumes can creep up on you without knowing. That is for any cleaner you use, even Simple Green. Isn't so simple to your brain or lungs..
Just wanna see ya on here again after you get it clean.
Good Luck :D

Well, one thought is... why try so hard to remove it ? It doesnt have any taste, isnt poisonous, doesnt want to come off, so why not just go ahead and cook in it and hope in some time it lessens. Its just an *appearance* thing really, maybe not justifying all the chemicals and unfood-friendly things you are putting on it for reasons of *appearance only*. Just use it.

One of my All Clad stainless skillets was left in the oven and I turned on the self cleaning. It turned the stainless a black molted color. Nothing sticks to this skillet! I can wipe it clean with a paper towel no matter what I cook in it. I told DH I might put them all in the self cleaning cycle. It would sure get off the burned on mess if you have the self cleaning feature.

Read somewhere online to put Coke in pan, simmer and let sit overnight. Wouldn't hurt to try.
