I have a Pilates chair that stays in the living room; I use it when I am watching a TV program (should probably use it as my computer chair since I'm on the Board enough!!). There's dozens of exercises that can be done with it, many which don't impact your joints. And, I swim at a local community center a few days a week. I've been told by many doctors and PTs that swimming is good overall for cardio and no impact on joints. They have a class where you do regular exercises in the water -- that was hard!!

I have a Gazelle and I love it. So many things makes my knees hurt, but not the Gazelle. I just hop on and set a timer...maybe 15 minutes and I alternate that with some other exercises and my Wii Fit.

Thank you for posting this!!! I had been considering the TreadClimber but the high $$$ has prevented me from going ahead. Although I am 5'6", it just seems like a lot of heavy equipment for a lot of heavy money. You have helped me with my decision.

My feet! and good walking shoes. The feet were inexpensive and the shoes last for years! All jokes aside, I just walk, walk, walk. With a bad back, it is the best exercise for me and pretty much injury proof. I bought an bike, but I find it hard to get interested in doing that type of exercise. When the weather is inclimate, I bought a Zumba tape to try since I like to dance. When winter sets in, I'll have to update you and let you know how the Zumba is going. Good luck.
