So then that "means" the retreat will be at your lovely home? Because those are all my favorite foods and beverage. I knew that "you" had talent (beside the computer) I haven't learned applique! Eddie's house "heck yea" in a heart beat...that is one talented man!

I have gone away for one....the one in Mt Carmel sound interesting.
I had one at my home for six women in February over one of those wacky federal holidays. They brought all their stuff and a homemade munchie. I have space to sleep over four but since they were local they all opted to sleep at home and come back in the am. Hours were Friday evening 6-9pm. Sat 9-9 and Sun 9-7. We didnt have prizes or anything but I thought about it....pincushions or something.
I provided continental breakfast, soft drinks and home made soup/chili for two days plus pizza for Friday pm. My basement is newly remodeled so I had two cutting stations, two pressing stations, a design area and a basting area. Everyone got their own "setup", table, electricity, lights and wastebasket.
We had fun and Im sure we will do it next year. You are more than welcome to come.

Heck, each morning I have to get a cup of tea and read the board looking for your reply/comments and of course the pictures you post. I am believing you are more of a computer wiz than a quilter...so we all out here will get a retreat going so that you will come and then you can show us a "thing or two". Bless you and do let us know if you go to a retreat. I really think it would be alot of "giggling women" and if not you would make sure we were. Bless you
I think I would rather go to the woods where there is no phone, no tv, no electricty, no lawn mowers rumbling, no dogs barking (get the picture?) and just sit there a few days doing NOTHING!!!! I love cooking outdoors and playing cards on the picnic table! Whos game? Well maybe not this week. My hubs has surgery in the morning. I just took him out to dinner to the lodge on the mountain since hes been a good boy. :-D

A GOOD retreat is a week long (Sun -Sun) get away in Madison NH. Meals to rival any 5 star hotel. A pool, an exercise room, gift shop and the best friends anyone could ask for. Also great outlet shopping just 20 min away in No Conway.
We have joined in a mystery group and brought lots of projects new and UFO's. NO phones, pets or laptops please.
(You can't get reception anyways) This is my gift to me every year.
We have learned much, laughed much and relaxed much.
Join one if you can. Many around if you ask at LQS, they probably can direct you to some.
If you get the chance go. Even if you can only go for a long week end one. It will change your life.

I love your little bunny photo! I have not been on a retreat yet, but it is something I want to do. Whether it is organized by someone else, or if I just get a group of friends to go off for the weekend to finish UFOs, I know I would have fun! Look up quilting retreats on the internet and you will find them all over the place. It's nice to dream about where you would like to go!

I just returned from a embroidery reteat. I started retreating in o3 or o4. If you want to get a lot done then you set up all the project or you UFO you want to finish. I like the retreat where somone else is doing the food. I do enough food when I home. My guild host 2 retreat a year. One we go to is a church camp. The other is a place built for quilting or scrapbooking retreat. We have much better frood at the secong one. But we don't have to do the cooking. We alway have the ladies that like to sew late and alone. They go to bed when the others are getting up at 6 or 7 am.
The cost get's to be the a problem. They are still going around $200 fro a Thursday at 12 untill a Sunday at 3pm or and Sunday 5pm to Thur.10 am.
Everyone needs to try and do just one.
Sometime just going to a freind house that has a large house can be as much fun as going to a center.
Its the time you spend together and sewing and not have to stop to do for DH or Kids or even our pets. Happy quilting.
