See, you said the magic word: "NEEDED" it. So all is well.

Sandy: You are totally guiltless. As Martina said, you needed each and every purchase. Your quilt class is going to produce a gorgeous quilt. Plus I think making all of those different stars is going to be a lot of fun. Are you going to go with the same colors?

Emma, not exact colors but mine will definitely be brights...like lime green and sunny yellow, pumpkin orange, bright red etc. Will make them and then see how they get arranged.

Well Sandy, I agree with the MAGIC WORD. In addition, you have a work order for tissue holders......so isn't that like something for work? Needing supplies or a uniform....work related? Sounds like a fun class, we want pictures and of the tissue holders too...........calla

My advise , take only cash, leave the check book and credit cards home. A new LQS sure is exciting!

Stopped at JoAnn again today with a 25% coupon off the entire order and got some of the hardware for the bag (they didn't have it last time). I also picked up another zipper, an art quilt magazine, some needles, and a squaring ruler for my GF. Not a scrap of fabric wandered into my basket.

Mad you are being good! I have been so busy with 'stuff' I haven't been tempted at all, which is a good thing. Monday will take me past an amazing fabric emporium...I shall endeavour to be strong...Now off to make a few burp cloths (from stash) and sort some scraps.

Nothing like sorting scraps to keep one from buying...earthwalker, I've been digging in the scraps, too.

Interesting observation: As I am working on the boomerang swap I realize which fabrics are not my favorites as I have little to work with from stash. White or white-on-white is apparently not something I that floats my boat. I have a few small pieces from a project I did in '92. Wow! I do have some white muslin but I never considered that "real fabric" - looks like it might become "real fabric" in this project.
