How exciting (minus the temptation of the fabric) to be surrounded by quilting things and get paid to do it! Good luck in your new job.

Sounds like everyone is trying to hold firm in fabric purchases. My DH was trying to convince me he was fine to go travel around to quilt stores this weekend so I could find that perfect fabric. I laughed as it might be the perfect fabric this week but they'll be another perfect one next week too.

I told my DS to pick a bargello pattern from my collection and colors and I would make it for him. And much to my surprise he picked red and black. Red, orange and yellows I have very little of and the pattern needs 20 different reds. I think I have three or four reds that might work so I will be busy looking for those perfect red fabrics. No LQS so it's either online (which I worry of the true color of the pictures for reds) or driving a three hour radius for the month of October. Sure miss that LQS!

I told DH last night that I am only going to visit two LQS on my next retreat. One is absolutely fabulous with lots of nooks and crannies (like an old Victorian) and the other is two blocks from the hotel. We generally go as a group to support the economy. Given the fact that there are a total of 8 stores on the way (or in the general vicinity) I think I am doing good.

Well I fell off of the wagon maybe...I got a yard of orange fabric that I'm thinking will be the backing of the pet wall hanging. But I'm not sure about the size. It was 40 percent off so I figure that even if it goes in the stash it is a good purchase because it is an orange. A color that I don't have much of.

I am thinking of starting a scrappy mitered log-cabin using the paper foundation. So if any of you ladies have any 8" x 1 1/2" (or slightly larger) strips of your fabrics, I would love to get some variety. (I would of course either trade and/or reimburse for scraps and shipping.)

Martina, what types of fabrics are you thinking of...my colors choices tend to be more cream colored country rather than white bases colors...or don't you care?
