Madquilter - I would think that purchase would consist of a souvenir (five hours after all)

krisb- I've been noticing the temptation of the sale emails too. Couple of clicks and your cruising for fabrics! Good to realize this but still tempting.

Oh...........! 60% coupon at JA. Kona cotton solids usually aren't on sale, so that means $3.60 per yard. I think I'm in trouble.

Wish I could claim nobility of spirit but its more a case of the marketing people at JA's outsmarted me. Its raining buckets here but jumped in the car anyway. Going to get a really pretty color in Kona Solids. Well they were having a 30% sale. Not enough of a discount to tempt me to buy. Did come home with a 24 X 36 Olfa cutting mat, which I've needed for a long time, my old one must be at least twenty years old. 60% off on a $70 item is great!

Oh I am already feeling the pressure. International quilt show will be here next weekend..... And oh the vendor section is always a weakness for me. I am seriously considering skipping the show completely. OH the choice I have to make. .... I just know if I go I will fall off .... hard!!!

Outch, outch, I twisted my ankle falling off the wagon. Honey and I went to one of our smallish local quilt shows and it was fabulous. Lots of variety and a nice selection of vendors. One had an ABC panel that I need for a baby quilt for one of my colleagues. It's all about animals and he is a biologist. Another booth had the perfect coordinating fabric for that panel AND a sign "one yard free with 4 yards purchased" At $6 per yard, I couldn't go wrong particularly since I stuck with neutrals.

I also found a set of linens that I can use in my Cindy Needham class in April. I don't have any suitable linen for the class in my stash.

OK, hopping back on until next weekend. lol

I jumped off of the wagon 2 times in the past 8 days because I purchased fleece to finish fleece blankets for an event this fall. I will probably need to make one or two more purchases before I have enough fleece. I was given larger pieces of fleece that I sew to remnants to make a 54" long top and then I choose a 'backing' fleece so I can fringe and tie them into one blanket.

I got around 31 yards of fabric for 117 dollars so that will allow me to finish about 15 to 20 quilts depending if I use some of the new purchase on the fronts to get the 54".

My friend and I will split the cost so that definitely helps the pocketbook. But I did save a whopping 177 dollars! It helped to have a 25% off coupon for the entire amount last week and my teacher discount this week. Lol.

Now to find a place to store the fleece until I have time to start sewing/fringing/tying.

MadQuilter: I knew you were ripe for a fall. Always hanging on that wagon by fingernails I can recognize the symptoms. At least you had a plan for all the purchases.
Connie: Since your purchase was made for an event I don't think that even counts as a fall. Enjoyed reading about your love of teaching in another thread. A good dedicated teacher is worth her weight in gold. What other profession can you have that you make such a difference in young lives?
