- A quilt buddy and I had a retreat until we finally said, "ENOUGH ALREADY." We get so much accomplished when we quilt together. She'll be back in a week for another 5 days.
This quilt is "Big Blossom". Have used it many times. It's great for 12" square motifs. The horses were from the guild comfort quilt stash. The white with black horses is mine....perfect match. Used a lot of precut squares. Quilting is done and it'll be bound by someone else. The file won't upload, so I'll put it into another reply.
This quilt started with the animals in rows on fabric. The I found the block with the diagonal line at 22.5 degrees. This gave the angles to the quilt. It was pieced last year when we in Calif had been in a drought for 4 years and we'd lost trees. Made me think of the importance of watering holes. Kept adding strips to get color placement and fill in spaces. The ditch work is finished. Just need to do free motion around the animals.
This final quilt started with striped fabric. Found an idea for on point squares made from strips. Used one stripe to frame the on point large square. The torquoise/green/white squares were first 1/2 sq triangle of torquoise/white. The didn't make a strong enough statement so changed them. The quilt was still weak until the dark squares were added as a border. So far I've done some outline straight stitching. Would love some free motion quilting ideas.

Wildyard, we'll take it! Toot, Toot. It's a UFO and it counts. Congratulations on a unique finish. I'm sure your granddaughter will be very happy.
Well, I have a non-quilt UFO finish to post. I wanted to be working on my quilt, but health issues are keeping me from it so I'm here online instead. I actually thought I had already posted this finish but searched and can't find it. It's a wall hanging I made for my granddaughter from her collection of karate belts she earned before moving her attention and focus to dancing. I wove them into a badge-shaped wall hanging and I'm very pleased with it.

Janice, I am noticing some posts being made in last years thread. Maybe one of the monitors could close that one to new additions? I am not sure how to stop posts yet still let people read it if they want. Hmmm...

Good morning fellow UFO'ers, no wonder it's so quite on the thread, Wildyard is correct. It's more conversation on the 2016 thread than here. Hopefully, everyone will get straighten out. For myself I been a little productive but not in the UFO area. Even found other projects but really don't know how to classified them. When I do determined how to classify the work, I just might share pictures. That shared piece that I hand quilted turned out good. Have a good day and load up the 2017 thread with good works.

If you insist I post on this site, I guess I will, yes I followed suit and made a post on the old thread. LOL
I'm 30 minutes to finish a small wall hanging. Only 8 small leaves to machine quilt. I'll go back to it after I get done here and will post pics tomorrow.
I also need to pin my few blocks for my BHMQ. It's taking so long b/c I just love the colors. I'm deciding if I want to add another border and what fabric to add. I'm leaning toward 6.5" of lavender with multicolores to blend with the top, or a solid or reads as solid lavender fabric. Decisions, decisions. I'll go back on that site here on the board and see what other quilters did to get an idea.

Hello everyone. Yeah, I have been quiet. We left for vacation in June, then got back and have been husseling to get things caught up and then daughter got very sick. She was in hospital for a few days, Ecoli poisoning and kidney infection. Yeah, she was not a happy camper. She is on the mend now thankfully. Then nephew is living with us temporarily and he got a dog. So that is three dogs in my house. He just found out today that he will be paying me from now on for the dog food. It is not a small dog. I am at a point, you either pay rent or get out. Yes, he has been here for three months. My quilting money is obsolete right now. I have not finished any UFOs at all this month. Not good. I did get my row by row quilt turned in. Just enjoying time with hubby and getting my garden in order.
