Jewel Tones Dragonfly Quilt
I finished this one yesterday. It's been many years on the back burner. In fact, it started out as someone else's UFO. I bought many of the 4" strips at a garage sale maybe more than 15 years ago (!) from a gal who said she'd decided to move on to other crafts. You just know she probably had those strips around for at least a few months before that. I liked the fabrics, but didn't have any idea what to make. Eventually I learned about Jelly Roll Race quilts, and this is somewhat inspired by that, though wasn't done entirely that way.
There are 45 different fabrics, some of which were added fairly recently. The dragonflies were done on the embroidery machine from a design I bought on Etsy from seller, sophieslittlebits. It's for a queen bed, but oversized to accommodate the taller mattresses, 100" square, the biggest quilt I have ever completed. It carries a lot of evidence of the battle I did with it (and didn't always win), but at least it's a quilt at long last. It's going home with my daughter after Thanksgiving.

Congratulations, Anne2016! Toot Toot on your final UFO finish of this year. By my count, that's 11. TERRIFIC!
Last UFO finished. ...at least for 2017. Do have one more but waiting until Jauary to finish that one. Then I will be caught up and start another pile of UFOs. LOL.
Thank you to members who took part in the 2017 UFO Challenge. I am grateful for your encouragement. It helped to have someone comment on a finished project even if they just said 'congrats' or 'nice job'. It kept me on track. Many thanks again to our leader Janice.
Janice...you did a wonderful job.
My DH always says that he is even busier since he retired.
I have already started a new quilt...wonder if that will become a UFO! This one was a snap to finish. Been hidden away for over a year b/c it needed binding which I had left undone.
Sorry for the poor quality of the photo. It is hit or miss with my camera...or with the photographer!

Rose, the colors are beautiful and I loved your comment about the "evidence of the battle". Boy, I get that! Happily, your battles may be evident to you but not to me or likely anyone else. Congratulations on a fine UFO finish! Toot, Toot! Love the dragonflies

About those 3 QFKs quilts: The program sent me a box of remennts, I just paid postage. They were various sizes, mostly skinny Some were 1" x 20" some were 1/2" x 10"+ It was challenging! But I love creating something out of what I have (or in this case, what I was given). The family had to use the back door while I was sorting and planning them using our living room. They were there a long time. I would walk past and move them around a bit until I said "Enough is enough" and began to sew.

Quilt for me
Another finish. It is twin size. I actually finished it on November 1. I started it in 2011. Long time coming. Finishing that one is what lit my fire! I am not starting anything new until I finish all of my UFO, at least that is the plan. On to the next one.
