Ms. Alva, those new Santa hats in pairs are really neat, although daunting to see: you've done all those since this morning, while I thought that I was doing well to see, print, read the download, and then wrap some 60 gifts so far. My (Santa)hat is off to you! May I say again that I really like your colors in the three sets that you showed us.

Got everything cut--caught up on Quiltcam while I drew ALL those diagonal lines!

I just finished cutting all the pieces, now on to sewing. I really like how the colors combine, both with BH's colors and w/ my yellow. Haven't seen any others of the alternate colors (in this clue) but judging by how they have looked till now I expect them to work nicely. Looks like there might be some optical illusion in this one.

I have 60 of my red headless geese made (although they are turquoise in my case). I was going to alternate those with the neutral ones, so that I could sew some pairs together and see the result, but I have black thread in my machine and I don't want to sew on the neutral ones until I change that. I guess I'll find out how many headless geese one almost-full bobbin will make

Done 4 sets of the latest Santa hats except for final trim. Started out cursing my way through but now I think I'm getting it. They are coming out better, straighter, so I am actually ending my day on a happy note. Have about 6-8 more sets cut, which considering I did my mothers food shopping for the month for her today, put it away, and made lunch at her place isn't too shabby for the day.

I am cutting the sets one at a time and then assembling them. Might be a waste of motion but I don't get flustered with all that cutting at once. Finished up day with 7 sets made as I found time in Lala Land (as DH calls my sewing room). Happy with my progress so far. Decided that if I trim the block after all assembled it is easier to fit the center of the Santa hats to match.

I cut the black into strips and stacked the strips in stacks of 4 and subcut into squares then halved the squares into triangle, it's still a lot of triangles but the cutting went quicker.

I use my June Taylor Shape Cut Plus to cut my strips. Then I just turn the June Taylor the other direction and cut again to make my squares. Lots of squares in no time!
