OK, I found a thread that talks about how to upload picts, so I am trying again. This is a finish from last month (March), but I was having trouble uploading the pict. So I am trying again and I think it is finally working.

Yeah for the finish and yeah for your new computer skills.

elly66 04-05-2017 05:01 AM

Grinch pretty colors and love the binding. Congrats on the finish.

joe'smom 04-05-2017 05:21 AM

I love your quilt, Grinch! What a pretty focus fabric.

QuilterMomma 04-05-2017 07:49 AM

Love the pretty fabric. Tough sometimes on uploading pics. I have to go thru quite a bit to upload photos. Great finish.

Here is my first finish for April. I like how it turned out. Learning some more smack down. Yes, the binding is finished. Took photos when I finished quilting it last night. I am working on better lighting in my sewing room. This is what I was talking about Madquilter.

Thanks for sharing QMomma..nice finish:thumbup:. I really appreciate you backside photo and seeing the stitching directions sans the piece work. I'm using my DSM for quilting and am practice ing on scrap quilts. Last night got the center of this meandered with a few stars thrown in using a beige variegated thread. Next step, what to use in the borders? I considered a double intersecting curve...think ribbons...or a simple loop...think cursive l's. A wave stitch might work and will help me build confidence to try your more decorative sashing stitching.

MadQuilter 04-05-2017 10:29 AM

Oh that is lovely, Quiltermomma. I will have to borrow the idea.

Janice McC 04-05-2017 12:05 PM

Nice job, Grinch. Beautiful colors. :)

Your quilt is amazing, QM. What a beautiful way of quilting. Beautiful. Thank you for showing the back so we can see it so clearly. Congratulations and a huge Toot, Toot for your finish!

Beautiful QuilterMomma!! I love your quilting, and it shows so well on the back. Really beautiful work.

Grinch 04-05-2017 01:54 PM

OKsewglad, that is beautiful! I am not sure about the borders. To be completely honest, I am not sure what a double intersecting curve is. I picture it like ribbons crossing every so often - like you said, but I am not sure I am picturing it correctly. But I love the idea (if what I pictured is right) - I am always so impressed with anyone who attempts curves!

retiredteacher09 04-05-2017 04:33 PM

I love seeing all of the lovely finishes! Thanks for taking the time to show them.

MadQuilter 04-08-2017 12:24 PM

Great finishes Juanitabean. I was going to get that minion panel for my grand nephew.

MadQuilter 04-08-2017 12:25 PM

The binding on my friend's mom's quilt is almost done so I can get back to quilting UFOs. I can't wait.

Grinch 04-08-2017 01:52 PM

I worked on cleaning my sewing room a little this week. I keep finding UFOs. It is going to take years to get through all these projects!

Sync 04-08-2017 05:24 PM

JuanitaBean, great finishes.

I would like to join so that I can finish some UFOs. I hope it is ok to join in this late. In April I hope to finish 2 projects. One (a scrappy approx. 76"X 100") just needs the border turned to the the back and sewn by hand. The other (black/white/gray approx. 80"X 106") needs to be quilted and binding done. I am not sure the second one will get finished because of its large size, but, on the plus side, I will be doing just stitch-in-the-ditch so should be easy going.

I just counted my UFOs. I have 12. It will take me a while to finish.

oksewglad 04-09-2017 05:24 AM

Never too late, anne2016...welcome to our group!

Grinch 04-09-2017 07:53 AM

Welcome, Anne! Glad to have you here.

wildyard 04-09-2017 09:59 AM

Grinch, your quilt is so pretty and Spring like, great job of finding scraps that go so well.

anne2016 04-09-2017 03:27 PM

This evening, I am working on turning and sewing down the binding on my scrappy UFO. Soon it will be a UFO no more!

Janice McC 04-09-2017 03:27 PM

Anne2016, welcome! Look forward to seeing your finish!

Welcome to the group anne2016.

My progress on my ufos has been slow but steady. The quilting on my hubby's quilt (poor guy has been waiting 2 years) is getting close to being done and I'm working on the borders of Allietare. My DD#2 and SIL just left to go back home (to Hawai'i) after their nice visit here, miss them already. While here DD#2 laid claim to one of my ufos, so that has moved up on the get done list. Anyway I do have an April finish ............ this is from Aurifil's BOM mini series from 2015. It's 15.5" X 17.75" It was machine pieced and hand quilted.

Welcome Annie2016 to the group.

Syn, this is really neat, I've return to hand quilting the smaller projects.

Happy sewing everyone.
