Okay ladies, talk me into keeping this Instant Pot!

I love the many features it has plus you can just push a button for beef, or chicken, rice, etc and then walk away and forget it until you hear the 10 beeps that says it's done. Then if you want, you can just leave it be and it will keep your food warm as long as you want. Don't know if it has a time limit but I've left mine for about 3 hours.

I BOILED WATER!!!!!
Sorry, just being a smart aleck! I did the "boil water" test to start up the new Instant Pot, worked like a charm.
Then, I made some steel cut oatmeal! See how delicious it looks? (Okay, it looks very plain but I'm just getting started so I kept it simple....)
This appliance is not scary at all. In fact, it's so quiet I didn't know if it was even doing anything. It was funny because at the same time this was cooking I was reading a cookbook I downloaded, and the author was writing "you'll think it isn't doing anything"!!
Tomorrow I'm making eggs for dinner in the IP!!

I got a great deal on the Instant Pot in Kohl's last weekend and bought it completely on a whim. I got the 3 quart model because I'm only one person and I don't need to make recipes for 6 people LOL.
It's been sitting here in the box staring at me, and to be honest I'm a little afraid of the thing.
I've been on Pinterest madly pinning recipes for the 3 quart (most of the cookbooks that are out there are for the 6 quart model and I understand there is a learning curve to altering recipes).
Any comments? Suggestions? Do I hear an "atta girl open that thing?!"
(I think what I'm actually hearing in my head is my mom's voice from long ago. She was terrified of pressure cookers but then again, the old fashioned stove top ones from the 1940's that she remembered probably blew up a lot more than the new safer ones. At least, that's what I'm telling myself!)

I read some reviews on this and basically it can be convenient if you don’t like cooking. The downside of the instant pot is you can’t adjust during the process.
There is also the time lag for pressurizing and if you want to cook with a pressure cooker it is recommended to just get that.
It can cook some things faster but if you have the extra 15 min you can use a stove and pot for most things.
So, I have a friend that loves the gadget but she really doesn’t like to cook and has an old stove. I am fine with leaving a stockpot on back burner for a stew or chili.
You can look around online and decide.

My Instant Pot lets me cancel any program at any time and start over instantly. It's one of the things I really like about my appliance.

I bought one last year. One of my daughters loves it and the other does not use hers. She also thinks she needs to work on figuring things out on how too and which recipes. I brought mine back when I looked at recipes. It was too much dough and grease and all mixed together. This year I bought an airfryer and I love that thing. I do crips vegetables, shrimp, not battered, and home made hashbrowns in it. I do drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil on it. I bought the gourmia 6 quart air fryer stainless steel $60. My daughter did complain that rice did not cook as well in the instatpot and the beans gave her gas. She prefers those items from the rice cooker and beans from the crockpot.
