I agree with mommamac. Join in the the junk bit this Christmas and give these gorgeous gifts to them as birthday presents instead. That makes you ahead of the game!

My family is getting larger each year and we started drawing names for the adults (35+) and the kiddies (13) have a stocking. With the economy and at least 2 adults being laid off we are making changes for the NEXT year, it is way too late to change this years plans.
And it is discussed by all and majority rules.
It is possible that SIL is having money probs.
It was wrong not to include you and the changes should have been made earlier. Don't let this ruin your Christmas, you have a big heart.

I'd give the kids the gifts anyway, and if you're feeling generous, give the adults, too. I've found that when families do the 'one gift' thing, they still give to the kids. What kid is going to want a "white elephant". But if you're uncomfortable giving the adult gifts, save them for birthdays or anniversaries.

I can relate. My youngest sister decided one year at Thanksgiving that we should draw names and only give a gift to the person who's name was drawn. I had already made gifts for everyone. I drew a name and that person got 2 gifts from me. When my sister complained saying "I thought we agreed to draw names and give to just that person", I informed her that she had agreed, not me and that I will give a gift to whomever I please, when I please. That was the one and only time we ever drew names!

Buy a trinket or Christmas candy for the gift giving event that has been decided. Then give them your made gifts and tell them you had already made them before this event was decided.
You can give gifts whenever you wish. Very nice gifts!

I would go ahead and give the gifts anyway. You made them out of the goodness of your heart and they should be given. Dont give the SIL hers , let her have the grab bag gift. You should feel very proud and Happy for what you made everyone. They look great.....

what a lot of ungratefuls------I certainly wouldn't give them ANYTHING but trash; you can save them for next year , they certainly DO NOT deserve your hard work made with love anytime soon.

Find a white elephant gift and join in on the fun.
Maybe hand them the gifts as you are all leaving, and wish them a heartfelt Merry Christmas. Don't let their inconsideration bother you, or your Christmas spirit  :D:D:D
ECHO  your heart is wonderful! :-D
    MERRY CHRISTMAS~
