I'm new here, found this website today while searching for other information. I own a Singer 201-3 that is in a Singer straight leg treadle cabinet, 15-90 in the classic Singer treadle cabinet, and a 1907 Singer Thistle 66 that is presently in a beautiful wooden box ready for to turn into a hand-crank. I purchased my first vintage machines this summer.reading all the past posts. Thanks!

Yeah! I spent hours reading about vintage machines, mainly Singers, since I wanted to learn about the Singer 66 Lotus/Thistle. My grandmother had one that she called her Thistle. The internet has a wealth of wonderful information, and you don't have to leave home!

So, It says it is a Singer, but is it?
Serial number is found underneath says ND976655. The information from the Singer site states that this machine was manufacture in Taichung, Taiwan around 1963. The front emblem badge looks different from the ones I have seen. The model badge is 15BG168.
I did take off the bobbin winder and swapped it with my 15-90 since this machines bobbin winder works better. I also change the wheel since I wanted the spoke wheel on the 15-90 for the treadle. It was missing the one plate when I purchased the machine. The nob in front is for the feed dogs to drop. Everything else is what it came with. I would like to know more information on the 15BG168. I sent an email to Singer, but no response from them.
