Thank you, Nancy, I had forgotten about sewalot's website. I'll go back and read it again. I finally got the pictures out of my camera so I can post a picture of my Dressmaker. It's not very good but I hope you get the idea. I'm also posting my Western Electric.

Just worked on a Singer 401A and did o.k. but would like to know if there is a repair manual available for this model. Have been searching on the internet, but can only find instructional manuals. Will that be of any help or is a repair manual something else? Anyone help with the answers?

jpete523, I like your turquoise Dress Maker. That has to my favorite color in machines. Is it because my mother's White was that color?

Now that Dressmaker is definitely a Class 15 clone. Is that the machine made by White in Cleveland? I think you said in the late 50's? According to http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...iRjrJ?start=36
White started importing machines from Japan in 1953 then moved all production to Japan in 1958. It would be really intereting if they actually started making the clones here in the US as I thought all clones were made in Japan post WWII in the 40's through the 60's. Remember, just because it was made by/for White doesn't mean it is not a 15 clone. There are literally millions of class 15 clones - all based on Singer's Model 15-30.
Anyway, both machines are very nice, but I am really interested in the Dressmaker! It is a class 15, and if it was infact made here in the US -- that is very very interesting! I am going to have to do some more research! Thanks a lot! LOL!
