No, it doesn't need one but the spool won't make that cute little 'clickety-clack' sound with the spring on it :-D . Mine doesn't have one, either, but I have another one that I could put on but I'm trying to decide if I would rather hear the 'clickety-clack' while I am sewing.

I think I have one someplace - it's a cutter attaches to the machine - not sure how it works - you might have to use a zigzag attachment too... I'm not sure where you get blades either.

I saw one some few years back some salesman was using to sell cheap Singer's. The machine was plastic and so was the serger. I wonder if it really worked.

The only thing I can think of (and I am going out on a limb here) this might be an FW or 301 in the card table with the Pinking attachment. But even then it is way far off on the price.................

The doohicky I have is a pinking attachment. Somehow mounts on the machine.
