Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
I love reading in this thread and seeing all the photos and hearing about all the machines that we 'rescue'. I don't post a lot but it's still nice to read along.
Anyway, I have a chance to purchase an older Omega brand machine for my daughter to learn how to sew on. I've never heard of this brand. Can you still find things like bobbins and needles for it? Also, can anyone tell me the model number of this particular machine? I'll try to post a photo. Does this model drop the feed dogs?

I am going to have to try that Vicks trick the next time I get the coughs. My grandma use to make us take castor oil. Yuck!!
Hopefully everyone will get to feeling better soon.

There is a black Singer model 301 in a Queen Anne cabinet, plus stool, for sale in Shrewsbury, Ma for $175.00. That is a wonderful price for that combination.

I wish I had the extra money, this week. I would be running right over there right now! It's just the next town over from me.

Yes, open the page and click on just the machine. They are Necchi, it's on the machine!
Farmstitcher, I really admire your avatar. I'd love to put that picture in my sewing room. You wouldn't have a 8 X 10 copy laying around any place?
Also, wondering if any one would know what size motor belt a Necchi Nova would take?

I'm pretty new to this Quilting Board and I'm sure that this question has been addressed numerous times but I don't have time to go thru all 915 pages. Is there any way to get the musty smell out of the older Singer machines. I have a 221 and just purchased a 301A that I love and am using for my quilting. The 301 is not in the case because I'm sewing with it and I have to purchase a new case for the 221. I'm still holding on to the original cases. But the smell gets to my asthma. Any good suggestions would be appreciated and I'm thanking all in advance. Blessings, Nancy

You might want to try it on a towel outside first as I am not sure what might work for you and your asthma.
** Just called them and they said it was OdoBan and they purchased it at Sam's Club or Walmart. Sorry for the confusion.
