Hahahaha QuiltE, you're so funny

GG, I keep looking at the pics of your DGS. I keep telling myself: this is what newborn babies look like! We've gotten so used to the tiny ones so now while they do have the size of newborns they look huge to me. Which they aren't of course.

Mirabelle, beautiful quilt! Did you decide yet what will be your next project? If you don't have any left I can send you some of my UFO's

Well, I put my time in on the berry row this morning, trimmed all the old canes out and it exhausted me. Planting peas tomorrow, too tired for that today.

I like your "A" Anael; now if I can master my machine next week... and if dh decides I can keep it. Of course he does not know about it 'cause it stresses him out too much. And he blows too much hot air in that case!!

Put the turkey into the oven; will have a very good lunch. Maybe I can 'sit' in the quilt room a bit. After everything is said and done, I am still sewing on my beloved Bernina on the typing table. Ha. If dh blows a fuse, I will add that to my list of completing the sewing room...and get an expensive sewing table for it. I refuse to get mad, just will get even, for him not telling me about the machine and sewing desk he got before we moved up here....since I earned 50% or better for 37 years of income...I will do my thing, too!! LOL!! Back then I took cutting tables back to JoAnn's because he complained about moving them.. Older and wiser now, I think.

QNSue ... mmmmmmmmm!! I can smell the turkey already. I'll make some stuffing in my crockpot and join everyone in the RV for a good ol' fashioned turkey dinner. Even have some cranberries ready too.

Maybe we should all help with ploys on how to break the news?
* Look Honey, what I WON at the dealer!
* They were giving them away at the dealership, to all who bought machines last month!
* It followed me home.
* I got it on eBay for $50
* Imagine that! one of my QB buddies sent it to me!!

Sounds like everyone is keeping busy!

I spent a couple hours outside this morning...we went to the outdoor 3-D archery area nearby and walked the trail. It takes about 30 mins to walk through 20 targets. We will do the 2nd half tomorrow or maybe Thursday. On Saturday the kids have a "tournament" there and have to shoot all 40 targets in the same day, scoring at each one. 3-D means they are deer, turkey, boar, etc...not just a flat target.

When we got home DS did some "weed-whipping" around the house and stairs for me. DD and I got some flowers planted in the window box outside the bathroom window (on front side of house). Then DS and I transplanted some ferns from the woods to by the house. There were already some there when we moved in, but it needs filled in more. DD got everything watered and I came in to clean up.

Going to get something to eat and then head to the clubhouse for a couple hours. Last night I got the centers of the propellers all cut out and ready to go on. Still have half the propellers left to sew...maybe today they'll get done and I can start laying out the blocks on my display wall.

CarrieM ... does all this tell us that school is out for the summer?
3-D archery sounds like so much more fun, than flat circle targets!
Looks like your planes will soon be flying in formation!
Are the propellers 3-D?

Your mention of busy ... reminded me ... did I tell anyone that I finished my GFGs while away. So it's all together now as a flimsy, and I just have to figure out the next step. Also did some machine sewing on the weekend, and have the D4P blocks done for my learning project for my new machine. Possibly tonight, start putting them together.

mirabelle. I love your Bonnie Hunter quilt. I need some inspiration to finish some UFOs. I am struggling to get to the sewing room. Summer is so short here so when I can be outside, that's where I want to be. Then in the evening I am usually too mentally tired and end up frog stitching. Wahhh, poor me.

QNS, why are you still sewing on your old Bernina? Did I miss something about your new one? Have you got the embroidery machine you ordered , yet?

QuiltE, the plant beside Audrey is an achimenes. I got some rhizomes a few years ago on eBay. They came from the UK. They are multiplying like crazy and now I have lots more than when I started.

Hope everyone is having the kind of day they want.

There's no shame in not sewing for a spell ... ENJOY your gardens and the good weather while you can!

JanieW ... sure wish I lived closer and could snag some of the bounty! Though you may not want me to have them, Brown thumb that I am. Haven't checked the map ... and am hoping you are no where near those fires.

QE--Yep school is pretty much done for the year. I am cutting out the middle for the propellers and using "steam a seam" to applique it on.

I started laying out the planes alternating with 4-Ps, but then decided to try something a little different. What do you think? Not enough room for dk blue border and propellers all the way around on my design wall, so just did two sides. I will also add an outer border...was thinking repeating the dk blue, but might go with a piano key using the fabrics from the 4-Ps. You can't tell in the pictures, but the planes and propellers are on a very light blue batik for a "sky" effect.
