Awww, a new puppy! Congrats Bev - it sounds like she is doing great!

Sue, there is another free book site that I get most of my Kindle Books on - it is called BookBub at bookbub.com.

Glad all of you are doing good. We are leaving on Sunday for a Rally with our RV Group, then going to Idaho to visit friends and family. We will be gone around three weeks or so. Looking forward to getting on the Road!

It has been awhile since anyone posted here, I was wondering if my auto messaging for this thread had broken again!

Hi Jeanie!

Yes, there aren't many of us to keep a conversation going. It's ok with me, tho. I'll hear from ya when I hear from ya.

I have been busy so haven't spent a much time here or sewing. I did complete my round on the Round Robin...like SBG said, just 1 round left.

Good to hear updates from everyone.

My MIL goes in for shoulder replacement surgery bright and early tomorrow (have to leave home at 4:45 am for check in). She is 82 and still lives alone so we are really not sure what the next few weeks will bring...

My youngest daughter completed her Esthetics Program (delayed several months due to covid)...boards are tomorrow so she can officially practice (facials, waxing, etc). My son in in CA shooting archery this month...he is 1of 4 trying out for the 2 available spots at the Olympic Training Center. There was a tournament this last weekend and he finished 3rd. My oldest daughter is working in a bike shop (building and repairing bicycles)...she loves it!

Only the youngest is living at home but she is looking at houses to rent with a couple other girls...it will sure be different with no kids around, but at the same time my husband are really looking forward to having just some "us time". We got married and had our first baby 10 months later...

It was different when our last one left home. Actually we moved away from him & he had to find somewhere else to live. I do miss him sooo very much.

QNS, are you missing your fresh eggs at your fowl-less home? Did you harvest potatoes planted in your tires this year?
Bev, how big is your puppy now? I got a canary this summer. He sings beautifully.
Jeanie, I was thinking it was quiet here too. I've been commenting on the Round Robin thread since June. After I get my top back in November from that, then I plan to start back with this thread. Maybe I can chat about my UFOs and get enthused to finish something.

Shoulder surgery went well for MIL. However with her normally using a walker she is off balance a bit just using a one handed walker (can't remember the official name for it) so she has gone to a rehab center for a min of 2 weeks. Got her all set up there yesterday. She'll be in quarantine the first 14 days. While she is there, I want to clean her house good including shampooing the carpets...

I have a few things to do in town today...one of which is a stop at the LQS...yay! Need some bee fabric for my last RR border.

I have opportunity to go to a retreat tomorrow all day...trying to decide if I want to pack everything up and drive 1-1/2hr each way for a day of quilting...I could have a day at home alone (well with the dogs) and quilt here too. I've just done lots of driving back and forth to the hospital the last 6 days...hmmm. Started laundry last night and will get that all done as well as other housework today so if I decide to go there's nothing that I will be thinking I should be doing...

Good morning friends. I know it's been a while since I checked with you all. I'm not as active on the board as i have been in the past. Mostly look at the Fabric moratorium and UFO threads and then leave. I'm glad you are enjoying the new Laurie Hird quilt, and nice to see the progress you have made with it. I did finish 2 more UFO's this month and put together a baby quilt made of GGGpa's shirts. It has an improv background with low volume fabrics and then appliqued a dinosaur on the front with a gray flannel backing. Now to get it in the mail.

Things here at home/work come first I guess. I have started a new project at church...cleaning out the sewing circle room and making an limited inventory of what we have. There are several charity quilt tops that need backing and batting and trying to list what sizes they are I have gone through the "fabric" boxes and eliminate inappropriate quilting fabric and some of the poorer quality and/or smaller pieces. We usually tie the quilts, but a couple I am holding back to long arm as they are of better fabrics etc. I have a couple of boxes and some on hangers waiting for the inventory process. Then on Monday we (sewing group) sorted the sheet and pillowcase boxes and looked at what is suitable for backing and pillowcase dresses. Another gal took the pillowcases home to be washed. We have plenty of supplies to make the layette bundles we provide to our church charity. My house has been an explosion of fabric.

Then this week my brother had a house fire. He's okay with minor burns and smoke inhalation, but still in the hospital and will need to go to a rehab facility for care. The rental house is not livable and will need to find new housing. So this afternoon going to his place (an hour away) to clean out refrig and see what can be salvaged, if anything. I guess sorting plans are on hold for now. Next week my sister will be here and we will see what happens next.

I will try to check in a little more often.

Good to hear from you OK, and Givio. We discovered 'economics' of keeping hens and ducks not laying vs. buying eggs. We can buy a lot of eggs for $120.00 a month. Each of you will be getting an email from me. Also Jeannie. I told the lady at the post office, my Christmas giving came early this year. (in all 8 boxes. That took almost half of my NTA money, but I was thankful I could get it all shipped.) She gave me a 'thank you' single life saver. HA! I deserved a whole package. It is what it is, what will be, will be. The area under my quilt frame is clear and clean now, I can hand tie or hand quilt now...to finish up a few (ha! many) UFOs.

Staying home two weeks might help that matter. We can hope.

I tell ya'll that having a puppy is so fun. She is such a calm puppy so when she gets excited is is so neat. She loves playing in the water. We took her down to the boat ramp to play in the water again tonight. She loves it. It is so funny. She paws at the water blows bubbles, gathers rocks to chew on, & tonight she caught a fish for about a minute, till it got away.
DD has one of Troubles litter-mates. We walk 'em together almost everyday. Then they wrestle for about half an hour
