I've been going to the grocery store daily to buy their deals. Now I am just getting my list made of what we want to eat this weekend. DD should be here in about an hour. I'd better scoot! She'll probably be hungry and I need to get sandwich stuff.

Hi to all. Meanmom, I was a special needs teacher for 27 years. Our aides were given some training before working with children like that. Sorry you have had such a rough time. Hope it gets better for you. Children like the one you described are very challenging to work with, but when you do reach them it can be very rewarding. Be good to yourself this weekend. I can remember times when I counted down the days, but can also remember years that were really good. The thing about working with special ed children in public schools is that you never know who is going to walk through the door and change the whole dinamic of the class. Glad you took the time to vent. Be well.

I got a text from the teacher that the problemstudent is out for the rest of the year. This is his 3rd year in the class and he is always somewhat of a problem but lately he has been awful. He has a lot going on at home which is why we think he is so off. Mom is really sick and has been in and out of the hospital a lot since Thanksgiving. Mostly in the hospital. It seems like as soon as he starts to adjust to living with grandma he is back with mom etc. The poor kid has no idea what is going on. They are hoping things at home will settle down over the summer. Grandma decided to just keep him home.
I am hoping to hide in my sewing room a lot of the day today. I am way behind on my 50 paper pieced stars group. I made a baby quilt for a shower yesterday. She loved it. She had tears in her eyes when she opened it.
Weight loss isn't going well this month.I feel like I am having a "see how much weight I can gain in a weekend" weekend. I am back on the wagon today. Yummy healthy eating to all.

When I was a parapro teaching remedial reading and math, I had a lot of respect for the special ed teachers and aides. It takes a special person to do that. Thank you both for being one of those. After I retired, I subbed all over and often worked with high school special ed doing job training. Interesting work.

My weight is still all over the place. It takes days to get it down, then one day to zoom it back up. My first GGS's graduation party was yesterday. So today I'm back on the wagon. Anyone want to grab my hand and jump on with me? I really intended to try my bicycle today and woke up extremely dizzy. D##$ neurathapy. I wish I could find the trigger - too much sugar stressing my body? Has to be something to have it come and go.

I want to buy more flowers today, but the market I want to go to requires a left turn onto M-115 which is impossible on the afternoon of a holiday. The joys of living in a tourist/vacation area. I will have to go several miles out of my way to go to a light.

My little 301 finally goofed quilting. The bobbin thread came out of its slot, so the stitch wasn't balanced. I echo quilted a whole panel of appliqued flowers and had to take it out. It really wasn't too loose, but I want it normal.

I am losing pounds and getting healthier while I quilt, plant and clean my poor house.

i taught home ec for 5 yrs in a public middle school. my class was an entry class for special ed kids to mainstream. one aspect i appreciated most about the special ed children is i knew what their problems were and what to expect. with the 'normal' kids there were always some who had major problems that were undiagnosed and could really disrupt the class. i finally left to get my masters in counselling since i was identified by the kids as a safe adult. all my free time was spent with kids wanting one on one time and counselling. decided i needed to get the education so i wouldn't inadvertently mess up anyone further. i ended up moving to texas and raising little boys. lots of fun, too! i wish i had finished my degree. that's life! i always had great respect for the special ed teachers. ours were superior. they worked so hard and found rewards in the littlest of changes.

i probably lost weight this weekend as i missed 2 days of it. we were shopping at macy's and the mall when i had sudden pressure behind my eyes and double vision. we went to the emergency room, and then my right leg started shaking with the knee buckling. they and we, thought i was having a stroke. fortunately, it turned out to be a comples migraine. by the time i saw the dr my whole right side was jumping! very odd! they gave me iv dilaudid and all was well with the world, and i slept for 2 days. woke up this a.m. and didn't know what day it is. talk about a lost week end!!lol. but, i didn't have anything to eat because my dh didn't want to wake me. fortunately, i wasn't hungry. still have a bit of a headache, but not bad. have a list of dr's to call today. oh, bother!! anyhoo, i am well and back on track! had an apple instead of the rocky road ice cream i went to the kitchen for. yay me! one good choice!

hope others had a better week end than mine!

Wow Nancia, that sounds like one scarey migraine. Glad to hear you are doing better but get rid of that bugger. Don't worry about the food you missed out on; I took care of it for you.
We had a busy weekend. Both of my daughters were here so that was nice. Too much food around. I bought all kinds of things I don't like to have in the house. Saturday was hotter than heck and they all went out in the boat. All I could think of was the heat and the sun glaring off the lake and the migraine I would get so I stayed in the house. Hubby and I worked some on cleaning out our basement. Yuck. After years of him stowing stuff down there it is truly a disaster area. Almost worthy of an episode of hoarders.
Hubby gave his notice and will start his new job on 6/11. (The day I get home from Ireland) I emailed our realtor in Texas. The house will go on the market tomorrow. We left there in such a hurry I don't really remember what shape the house is in. Certainly not picture worthy which is what will be happening today. Oh well. Not much I can do about it from here. I was really looking forward to my next winter down there. I mean REALLY looking forward to it. I'm bummed and a little ticked off but I do understand it was time for him to change jobs. Now we will be looking for a place to live in or near Shakopee, MN. Life goes on.

Taboo Tues This week lets try to get our 8 glasses of water every day. 8 oz. glasses. If you can't...... try to get as much as you can each day. If you did it all week please let us know.... also maybe give yourself a small reward. It is very hard for me to drink water, but I do try to drink some each day but need to drink more. Hope each of you remember to do something for yourself each day. May is almost over. But we could continue on into June if you would like.
Hope you have a great week and will be lighter by next Tuesday!!!!!!!!

Wow Nancia that is one scary migraine. Glad to hear you are getting better. I ate your food and everyone else's food too. I ate enough sugar to practically put myself in a sugar coma.(I'm not even diabetic). I made some killer brownies and I can't stay out of them. I picked on them Saturday night, all day Sunday and Monday. I took the leftovers to work today, they disappeared. THis weeks taboo is too easy for me, as I pretty much only drink water. I am going to re-do last weeks taboo since I failed at it so misserably. I think I regained all of the weight I lost this weekend. Oh well, back on the wagon yet again.

nancia, glad you are feeling better. Holidays and children mean more food and treats. DD is coming home this weekend, but hoping to eat pretty regular. She is more health conscience than I am. My goal is to get the table cleared off so that we might be able to eat in the dining room.

Scale is on the way down again. Not much exercise or outdoor work this last weekend. Still have some garden to plant, but the high was 50 today, and windy. Hoping tomorrow will be better, but I got a lot of sewing done today.

Irish, the property in MI sounds better all the time. Talked to the agent this morning - hoping to get pictures this week. Might have to take a trip to your state yet this fall. Would be wonderful to move gradually instead of all at once. Although still looking at 4 - 6 years, but time flys so fast.
