2019 Fabric Moratorium

Irishrose, I think she just knows that I'm not really taken with her yet. I have two sick Senior dogs at home. The timing couldn't have been worse. And, the Seniors haven't really taken to the puppy. Although they are tolerating her. Their just to old and small to be her play toy. And, my young adult male tolerates her a little better. But, again, he's small. So, I'm kept very busy making sure she doesn't hurt him by accident. I'll get used to her. And, she will fully potty train weather she likes it or not. But, I will crate train the disobedience out of her also. She's not been a terrific listener yet. But, she's not deaf, so, there's always hope. Yeah, my son selectively left out some of the less desirable traits when he basically told me he was getting her. And, unfortunately, because of his job, he travels a lot. So, I am kind of stuck with her. So, might as well try to make the best of it. Although, she did shock me when I found her sitting on my coffee table. Bold little Miss! We're working on manners every day!

Oh Judith, I'm sorry you are having trouble with your son's dog. I'm in the same boat with my daughter's dog. She travels and I dog-sit. Her dog is so bad that we named her "Trouble" when she was a tiny puppy! She is a total mutt that was supposed to be a German Shepherd. Her mother wasn't in the same county with a German Shepherd ... ever!
She is about 2 years old now and still eats anything made of fabric (her favorites are rugs, clothing, and socks), and anything made of wood! She pretty much stays crated at my house. Yikes!! And, yes, we've had all kinds of dogs in the past, but this one is something different. ...

Love the bike material. I had some of that but don't remember how I used it.
Sad to say, Boxers were not involved with the "smart gene". And they stay puppies till close to 2 years old. The larger the breed the longer they take to mature. I am on my 2nd Great Dane. He has no idea he is 6 years old, but luckily he is very well behaved. He was a rescue and has anxiety issues, so is on Prozac, which has made an amazing difference in him.
Well, the day at the sew-in at the LQS was good, but I fell off the wagon, skinned my knees, and severely damaged my wallet. But everything I bought was from the $5 a yard bin. Two are bolts of 12 yds and 10 yards, will be perfect backing for the current project, and may just make 2 of the same pattern. I also got several 1 yd to 1 1/2 yd pieces to add to the Civil War fabric for a soon-to-be quilt. All-in-all, all the fabric was planned out carefully, and will be used in the near future.

OK.....darling quilt project for you and your granddaughter to work on. I love the pattern and colors.... So fun...
Lindajane....awesome tote. The bike fabrics is very cool...
I only have 8 more blocks to PP for my vintage quilt. PP takes sooooooo long to do..at least for me it does. I'm even PP the blocks that I chose for fillers that I would normally machine piece just so the whole thing is PP. I saved the cutting (there is so much) to try doing something with them.

Here's my working diagram of the "purple quilt" (just to clarify, this shows 4 blocks). There will be 6x7 full blocks so 42 different purples. Right now the plan is for an additional set of half blocks all around the outer edges using the same dark purple fabric to provide a border. Ideally, I would have enough of a single white fabric to use with those, but I don't think I have a big enough piece -- but should find out today! I really like how there is exactly the same amount/shape of the background as there is the color part and how the pieces tesselate together.

Oh, I really like that, Ice. I love purple, but don't have much purple in my stash. Actually, I guess that's not true. I have 2 bolts of at least 6 yds each of purples that I got for backing one time. But so far they have not been the right shade of purple to be used.
Well, I've been running around doing errands all morning, so maybe now I can get downstairs and do some sewing. I haven't felt exactly full of energy the last couple days so I need to change that and get busy doing something constructive.
