I know how you feel. I was gifted my mother's sewing machine, and have since learned that my grandmother had a National two spools machine. So my goal is now to find a two spools like my grandmother had. Who knows? It could happen!

My BIL also had sarcoidosis and it took the specialists forever to diagnose him but they never determined what the actual cause was ........ Billy's symptoms seem similar but that's certainly not a diagnoses!

I feel that about a 201 (e-machine), my mom traded hers from the 30's back in the early sixties for this 401A. I've had it ever since, but I still want a 201.

I had two cousins with sarcoidosis, and it took them a long time to diagnose it, also. One the cousin's is deceased now. The other is a quilter and good at it. She has her days when she is strong and her not so good days. Peace out everyone, got to hit it. Everyone give Billy some love.

If you got the belt wet with kerosene, it will swell up. You need to remove all rubber base products before you start to clean with a petroleum product.

Lee..I bought a new belt for $2.00. It also came with a replacement bobbin tire! Thank you.thank you

I finally did it.....Sewed on one of my treadle machine, a Singer 191U.

I signed up on the Treadle On group to do the fall TOBE to force myself to finish and use one of my treadle machines. So I am working on a BOM that is a UFO making log cabin blocks as practice first. Boy I am getting used to threading the needle as I often start to sew backwards and break the thread. I'm still fiddling with the tension a bit but not bad. It is like it is not releasing when you raise the pressure foot either.

I have a question though. My machine is on smooth floor and it moves around when I am peddling. What do you guys use to keep it in place or do I need to adjust how I am peddling?

I did learn you cannot use a chair on wheels. Both the chair and the machine were rolling all over.
